When Her Death Couldn't Break Him (Cecilia and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 2118

Denise reached out and tugged at Magnus' hand. "Magnus, we can just have a small wedding."

Then, she looked at Cecilia. "Cecilia, please don't listen to Magnus. We won't have a grand wedding. It'll just be a simple one. Magnus said you're his only remaining family member, so please be sure to attend our wedding."

Denise had pride; she didn't want to rely on anyone, especially not Magnus' sister.

She could also tell that Cecilia was unwilling to lend them the Smith residence for their wedding, and she knew not to be unreasonable.

However, Magnus refused to give up just yet. "But—"

Denise glared at him, and he immediately pursed his lips, saying no more.

Cecilia watched the exchange between Magnus and Denise. After chatting with them for a while more, she saw them off.

As soon as they left, Charlotte came over. "Boss, it looks like your brother is quite afraid of Denise."

Cecilia smiled. "You noticed that too?"

Charlotte had merely come over to drop off some documents, yet she was able to tell the relationship dynamic between Magnus and Denise in that short amount of time.

Charlotte nodded. "How could I not? With just one look from Denise, Magnus became frightened out of talking."

Cecilia smiled again. "It's rare to see that someone can actually keep him in check."

After all, when Magnus followed Paula to the Evans family, he was only superficially respectful to Ralph and Cassandra. Others could still see his inherent arrogance under the facade.

Yet, now, he was unbelievably obedient to a woman.

Cecilia hoped he could stay like this because Denise seemed like a decent person and should be able to guide him toward the right path.

"Yeah, I hope he stays in love with this Denise and focuses on doing the right things in the future," Charlotte remarked.

Cecilia nodded in agreement.

Then, she looked up and asked Charlotte, "By the way, Lottie, how is Sven doing lately?"
