Tara anxiously sat next to Jonah. She only got into the car because she wanted to tell him that she wasn't planning to be in a relationship for the time being. She didn't want him to waste his time, especially since he was a busy man.
However, his actions prevented her from speaking her mind. So, she bit her lip and didn't know what to do. When Jonah noticed that, he said with a frown, "If you continue biting your lip, you're going to injure it."
Tara embarrassedly stopped biting her lip and lowered her head. She couldn't hide her nervousness at all.
Jonah seemed to have seen right through her, and he said softly, "Don't feel stressed. Just do what your heart tells you to."
She quietly glanced at him. His words calmed her down without her even realizing it.
Before Jonah started driving, he asked, "What would you like to listen to on the radio?"
"Anything's fine," she said hurriedly.
Hearing that, he put on something relaxing to calm her down further.
Tara was a detail-oriented person. Although she was slow when it came to relationships, she was sensitive to all the little things. For example, when she was with Lance, she noticed he actually minded her poor background. He also didn't like how her work wasn't that impressive.
So, she never asked him where he was going. Even when he returned home or when his parents called him, he never brought her up. He also never asked if she wanted to join him when meeting his friends.
Tara noticed everything, but she pretended to be oblivious. She only suggested giving Anton a gift previously because she thought she should show him some respect. After all, Lance had announced to the world that she was his girlfriend.
Tara had always gone with the flow, and Lance treated her greatly in every other aspect. She was also open-minded and knew that no one and nothing was perfect. After all, there would always be something that someone wouldn't like.
So, she could see all the little efforts that Jonah had put in. However, she didn't try to find them deliberately. Instead, she felt them with her heart without realizing it.
When she saw how the story would go, she learned that Jonah was a great man. He was completely different from Shawn, whose complicated attitude toward her was unpredictable.
As Jonah kept his gaze in front, he gulped and said, "So, you're going back to Naoundbury tomorrow?"
Tara returned to her senses and nodded at him. "Yeah, that's right."
