Chapter 336 Breaking Point
Chapter 336 Breaking Point

“I wouldn’t think that! If it had been Natalie, I never would have imagined that. I know her– she’d rather die than betray herself. And Witch Doctor, harsh as he is, still has standards. He wouldn’t stoop to taking someone’s lover while they were helpless.”
Baron’s words hit Jensen like a slap to the chest.
“You’re full of shit. You’re not Witch Doctor–how the hell would you know what he’s like?”
Natalie watched the two of them argue and finally spoke up.
“I trust Witch Doctor’s character. He sets harsh conditions, but he never forces anyone. Jensen, it was your heart that made you think that way.”
Jensen fell silent at her words.
Of course. It was his own heart–his own insecurity. Natalie would never have given herself to Witch Doctor. She loved him too fiercely for that.
Regret and self–loathing poured through Jensen. “You should’ve told me. If I’d known, I would have married you immediately. Even if Sharon used it against me later, I wouldn’t have believed her.”
“No. Even if you’d known I’d donated the rib, even if you’d married me then, when Sharon came back and claimed she saved you, you would have believed her. You’ve always wanted the unattainable. Sharon was something you couldn’t have, so you chased her according to her script.”
Natalie’s voice was even and low–neither cold nor warm–but it landed with crystal clarity for everyone to hear.
Jensen’s shoulders slumped. She had read him perfectly.
He had married Sharon partly out of gratitude, but also because five years earlier she had walked away and he’d resented being abandoned. When she returned, he couldn’t let the chance pass. He wanted to prove he could be the one she relied on now.
Hearing Natalie call it out left him humiliated and speechless. Emotions surged–regret, sorrow, shame. Finally he swallowed and said, “Natalie, I was wrong. Please forgive me. I was deceived by Sharon too. Give me another chance?”
Baron tensed. This was exactly what Anna had been waiting for.

Anna’s grin widened. “See, Baron? I told you–you were just a piece in their game. Jensen and Natalie are bound by something deeper than anyone else could break. If I were you, I’d kill Natalie for playing with your feelings. And didn’t I hear she made you into the Stone family’s live–in son–in–law? Is that something a real man should
put up with?
Her taunt was venomous, shamelessly designed to provoke.
Although Natalie knew Baron already understood the truth and wouldn’t be swayed, anxiety still flickered inside her.
“Baron, 1-
“Are you playing me?” Baron snarled, and suddenly lunged toward Natalie like a man possessed.
Jensen leaped in front of her. “Baron, if you hurt her, I’ll kill you.”
Mercenaries reached out instinctively to hold Baron back, but Anna lifted a hand to stop them. She loved the dogs–fighting–in–the–street spectacle. If Baron killed Natalie, that would suit her just fine.
Baron broke through the loose resistance and barreled up to Natalie, but Jensen’s protective stance kept him from striking. Fury overtook Baron; he lashed out at Jensen.
Jensen had plenty of reasons to hate Baron. Seeing him come, Jensen released all his anger. “Baron, if five years ago I’d known Natalie was the one who donated the rib, you wouldn’t even be in the picture! You should be grateful she let you care for her. If you lay a hand on her, I swear I’ll kill you.”
He swung his foot at Baron.
Baron ignored the attack. He grabbed Jensen’s reaching arm, twisted and pulled, then executed an over–the–shoulder throw–using Jensen like a ragdoll–and hurled him straight at Anna.
Anna had been watching the chaos unfold; suddenly a dark shape slammed into her. Instinct made her bolt, but her short legs failed her. Jensen’s momentum crashed her into the floor.
“Damn it!”
Anna felt as if her insides had been shattered. She spat a mouthful of blood and couldn’t
move.
