Chapter 357 Crossing Paths
After hanging up, Rio’s face was glowing with excitement.
Susie and Sean exchanged a glance.
Finn’s great–grandmother was ill?
And Payne had invited Witch Doctor?

That name rang in their ears–Witch Doctor was someone their daddy seemed connected to.
The twins looked at each other knowingly.
Aubree, meanwhile, was delighted. “That’s wonderful news. Grandma’s health has been failing for years. My parents have been so worried she might… but now that Dad found Witch Doctor, she’ll be fine for sure.”
“Exactly,” Rio said quickly. “I’ve heard Witch Doctor is hard to invite, but once he agrees to treat someone, they always recover.”
He turned to his son. “Finn, why don’t you come with us to see Great–Grandma?”
“Okay,” Finn said obediently, nodding.
Sean tugged on Susie’s sleeve.
Susie stood and spoke softly, “Since your family has important things to do, we’ll head home now.”
“Oh, no, you can’t just leave like that. I still haven’t called your parents to pick you up,” Aubree said quickly. “Better idea–I’ll send someone to take you home, all right?”
She no longer had time to reach Baron, and who knew how long it would take for the Stone family to send someone. Payne had sounded elated on the phone; he was probably arriving at the hospital any moment. They couldn’t spare more time to watch over the twins.
Sean thought about it. If the Zach family’s driver brought them back, their grandparents and uncle might not be too angry. They could beg them not to tell Mom and Dad–it might work.
He nodded. “Thank you. That would help a lot.”
“Oh, nonsense,” Aubree said warmly. “You’re Finn’s classmates. It’s no trouble at all.”

She genuinely adored the dragon–and–phoenix twins. Beautiful, well–mannered–especially Susic, who carried herself with a gentle grace that reminded Aubree of Natalic.
Rio felt the same. Hearing their agreement, he called the driver over and instructed firmly, “No matter what, you must deliver these two safely to the Stone family villa. Do you understand? Hand them directly to their family.”
Rio rarely spoke with such seriousness. The driver immediately understood how important the children were.
“Yes, sir. I’ll make sure they’re returned to their family personally.”
Sean bowed politely in thanks.
Susie turned to Finn. “Finn, we’ll come see you another day.”
“Wait–let’s add each other on WhatsApp!” Finn quickly pulled out his smartwatch.
“Sure!”
The three of them beamed as they exchanged contacts. Then Susie and Sean followed the driver into the hall.
Just as their elevator doors slid shut, Baron and Payne stepped out of another elevator.
Hearing Payne’s voice, Rio and Aubree rushed to greet them.
“Father, is this Witch Doctor? What an honor,” Aubree said breathlessly.
Baron paused.
Wasn’t this woman Finn’s mother–Susie’s classmate’s mom?
What a coincidence.
With the silver mask covering his face, his presence was completely different from when he’d been at the kindergarten. Aubree didn’t recognize him at all.
She merely offered a few polite words before retreating.
Rio, with Finn at his side, showered Witch Doctor with gratitude.
Seeing familiar faces, Baron didn’t keep up too much pretense. “Don’t worry. Madam Rina’s condition isn’t complicated for me. Wait outside–I’ll finish the procedure soon enough.”

“Thank you, Witch Doctor!” Rio’s excitement was overwhelming.
Baron donned sterile gear and entered the operating room.
Payne asked Aubree to take Finn back to the ward and rest until the surgery was over.
Aubree understood immediately that her father–in–law and husband needed to speak privately, so she left with the boy.
Rio noticed Payne’s unusually grave face. “Father, is something wrong? Don’t tell me Grandma’s condition is beyond Witch Doctor?”
“It’s not about your grandmother,” Payne said heavily. “It’s about the Stone family.”
He sighed, then told Rio the whole story of Natalie’s disappearance.
Rio froze.
“What? The Stone family’s daughter has gone missing? No wonder Aubree couldn’t get through to her just now.”
Payne blinked. “Aubree knows the Stone family’s daughter?”
