Yvonne glanced out the window, lowering her voice even more. “While you were in Ocevaris, a murderer escaped from prison. The police still haven’t found him. And just half an hour ago, someone was killed–the method was almost identical to that killer’s past crimes. The police believe it’s the same escaped murderer. The entire city is now under lockdown; no one can enter or leave. If anyone tries to force their way through, they’ll be treated as an accomplice.”

Westin frowned deeply. “Something feels off about this…”

“Forget how it feels,” Yvonne said quickly. “My uncle and aunt are still in Ocean City. With them there, things shouldn’t spiral too far out of control. But you definitely won’t be able to get in. Have my brother take

my sister–in–law to Murica for now.”

She hung up right after that.

Westin didn’t dare delay; he rushed to relay the message to Baron.

Baron’s eyes narrowed.

“They lured everyone from Ocean City to Ocevaris, and then a murderer conveniently escapes? That’s no coincidence. I thought my wife was targeted because of me, but now it’s clear–she was just bait. A lure to draw everyone out of Ocean City. The real targets are the Stone family–my in–laws.”

Baron knew exactly how much Natalie cared about her parents. If he stood by knowing they were in danger, she’d never forgive him; even if she woke up, that guilt would haunt her forever.
