**Chapter 418: Gianna’s Rage**
He had struck her. He had brought her to a place of utter humiliation.
And he would come to regret every single moment of it.
Gianna’s heart raced as she clenched her jaw tightly, forcing herself to rise from the cold, unforgiving floor. Her knees quivered beneath her, but she summoned every ounce of strength to push her body into motion.
The hallway stretched out before her, eerily quiet. The last of her colleagues had departed for the day, leaving behind an unsettling silence that echoed through the empty space. Marcelo’s office loomed at the far end, shrouded in shadows, concealed from the prying eyes of the world. No one had witnessed the degradation she had just endured. No one would ever know.
She hastily fixed her disheveled hair and brushed off her clothes, desperately trying to mask the tremors that betrayed her composure. Her cheeks burned with a mix of anger and embarrassment, yet she lifted her chin defiantly as she strode away from that wretched place.
There was no way she could confide in Miguel. Not in Maxwell, either. Not even Emery.
If she dared to speak out, Marcelo would unleash a torrent of destruction upon her. He would unearth every secret, every vulnerability, and she could not allow that to happen. Not now. Not yet.
Amelia had warned them before, but her words had fallen on deaf ears.
If Marcelo chose to voice his threats this time, and if he spoke with the conviction that simmered beneath his surface, doubt would seep into the minds of everyone around her.
Gianna understood the precariousness of her situation. She couldn’t afford to let the Nygard family discover the truth; she had to swallow her fury and bide her time.
Later, she would confide in her mother and devise a plan to confront that monster properly.
Amelia remained blissfully unaware of the storm brewing in Marcelo’s office.
Her days unfolded with a veneer of normalcy. She arrived at work with a bright smile, greeted her coworkers, and clocked in and out like everyone else.
On the surface, she appeared to be just another diligent employee, blending seamlessly into the fabric of the company.
But beneath that calm exterior, she was moving stealthily alongside Tyler and a select group of trusted allies. They were delving into the depths of the Nygard Group, quietly gathering intel from within.
Their mission was straightforward yet perilous. They sought to unearth every spy and traitor lurking within the company’s walls. In recent weeks, Amelia had already exposed a number of Regina’s pawns.
Yet, those individuals were insignificant, lacking any real authority or influence.
Amelia was acutely aware that this was merely the tip of the iceberg. There had to be someone more powerful, someone who had been clandestinely feeding Regina information for far too long.
But the identity of that person eluded her grasp.
Until she could pinpoint that traitor, the Nygard Group would remain vulnerable. That spy needed to be rooted out, no matter the cost.
She refused to dismiss anyone from suspicion. It could be an executive, or perhaps even someone within her own family. The Nygards had an extensive network of relatives intertwined with the company.
Even the three brothers were not exempt from scrutiny.
Blood ties meant little in the grand scheme of betrayal. The most painful wounds often came from those closest to you.
That was the nature of danger.
