When the Hidden Luna Rises novel Chapter 41

**Chained by Fate**
**Eliza Rowan**
**Chapter 17**

Chloe felt the heat rise to her cheeks, a mix of embarrassment and anger coursing through her veins as she struggled against Ryan’s iron grip on her neck. Her hands flailed helplessly, slapping at his wrist, desperate to break free.

“No…” she gasped, her breath hitching in her throat as panic threatened to overwhelm her.

A cruel smirk twisted Ryan’s lips, his eyes glinting with a sadistic pleasure as he suddenly released her. “Never mention her in front of me again. You’re not worthy!” His voice dripped with disdain, leaving no room for argument.

“And wasn’t this the outcome you were hoping for?” she shot back, her defiance flickering like a flame in the dark.

Without a word, he turned his back on her, leaving her alone in the sterile confines of the hospital, a stark reminder of her vulnerability. For days, Chloe remained in that cold, white room, the incessant beeping of machines her only company. No visitors came to check on her, no familiar faces to offer comfort.

When the day finally arrived for her discharge, she returned to the Silvermoon Pack’s house, her heart heavy with trepidation. Olivia was already seated in the living room, her demeanor deceptively calm.

“Back already? Are you feeling better?” Olivia’s unexpected concern caught Chloe off guard, making her pause.

“Yeah, better,” she replied, her voice flat and devoid of emotion, as if she were merely going through the motions.

Ryan lounged on the couch, his silence enveloping the room like a thick fog. He appeared more worn down than she remembered, the shadows under his eyes a testament to his inner turmoil. Deep down, he was battling a storm of longing for Tessa, his wolf restless and agitated, a reflection of his own fractured spirit.

Exhaustion weighed heavily on Chloe as she turned to make her way to her room, but Ryan’s sharp voice cut through the air, halting her in her tracks.

“What are you doing?” he demanded, his tone laced with irritation.

“Going to my room,” she answered wearily, feeling the weight of his gaze on her back.

Ryan closed his eyes, a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth.

“Room? There’s no room for you here anymore.”

Chloe froze, his words sinking in like a stone.

“What do you mean?” she asked, a tremor of fear creeping into her voice.

“Literally what I said. There’s no room for you here. Can’t you understand that?” His tone was cold and unyielding, a finality that sent shivers down her spine.

Chloe’s laughter was bitter, a hollow sound that echoed in the silence of the room. “Don’t forget, you’ve already acknowledged me as your Luna in front of the pack. You’ve marked me.”

Olivia regarded her with a mild disinterest, then rose from her seat, her smile unwavering.

“Chloe, we are here to talk about removing that mark.”

Chloe understood the grim reality of her situation all too well. With no child to solidify her place, she was nothing more than a burden to them now. But surrendering was not an option she was willing to entertain.

Ryan had coldly taken her child from her, a brutality she had never anticipated from him, especially considering the tenderness he once displayed. She had been the one deceived all along, wrapped in a false sense of security.

“I won’t give up the Luna position,” Chloe declared, her voice steady despite the turmoil within. But Olivia’s response was blunt, cutting through her resolve.

“Even if you cling to Ryan and insist on being our Luna, we won’t accept you anymore. We’ll expel you from the pack.”
