**Chained by Fate**
**Eliza Rowan**
**Chapter 16**
Chloe’s gaze shifted toward the Silvermoon Pack, her mind racing with thoughts of Olivia and the urgency to push her into action. “Come on, Olivia! We need to get this moving,” she called out, her voice laced with impatience.
Olivia was the only one capable of reigning in Ryan, and Chloe was resolute in seizing this moment to her advantage. The weight of the pack’s expectations hung heavy in the air, and Chloe was determined to make her mark.
Under Olivia’s relentless urging, Ryan found himself cornered into making a public declaration that would seal Chloe’s fate: she would be the Luna of the Silvermoon Pack, and he had marked her as his mate. It was a bold move, and yet, the atmosphere was thick with unspoken words. The pack members, aware of the tangled history between the three of them, offered no congratulations, their silence echoing louder than any applause.
Once the announcement had been made, Chloe wasted no time in pressing Olivia to orchestrate their mating ceremony. It was common knowledge that Chloe had a rather scandalous reputation, and asking Olivia to handle such a significant event was almost laughable. Yet, now that the title of Luna was within her grasp, Chloe felt an intoxicating surge of power.
At home, she began to assert her newfound dominance with an air of confidence that was hard to ignore. Ryan’s indifference no longer stung as it once had; she was determined to rise above it.
“I had a chat with your mom,” she said, a smirk dancing on her lips. “We’re having the mating ceremony next month.”
The satisfaction of those words hung in the air, intoxicating and sweet.
Ryan’s reaction was immediate, and his expression soured, dark clouds gathering in his eyes. “Dream on,” he muttered, barely masking his contempt.
Chloe let out a cold laugh, unfazed by his dismissal. She could feel the threads of her plan weaving tighter around them, and it thrilled her.
For Ryan, it was a bitter taste of reality—living with someone he loathed was a torment he had never imagined enduring. No matter how hard he tried to evade her, Chloe’s presence lingered like a dark shadow, suffocating and relentless. The hatred he felt for her was raw and visceral, so intense that it sometimes manifested in violent dreams where he imagined ending her life. She had shattered his world, and he was determined that her dreams would not come to fruition. He would ensure that Chloe experienced the same agony he felt.
Finally, for the first time, Ryan found the words to speak to her. “I have something for you. Come upstairs.”
