Before I realized it became impossible to tear our lips apart. Ronan’s hands gripped my waist, lifting me effortlessly into his arms. My gasp was swallowed as his mouth claimed mine, hot and demanding. He carried me across the room and laid me on the bed, his body hovering above mine, the mattress dipping under his weight. I blinked fast, my throat tight.

He smiled faintly. “If you don’t want to, then we won’t. We’ll just hold hands, fall asleep, and wake up together. That’s enough for me.”

My heart stumbled. Then I smiled, pressing my lips softly against his. “You say things that make it *impossible* not to want you.”

He chuckled against my mouth. “Is that so?”

We lay there, facing each other, whispering about nothing and everything–until words faded and silence spoke louder. His eyes stayed on mine, and in that quiet, I realized something simple yet infinite.

I didn’t just want him.

“What are you looking at?” he asked as we lay staring into each other’s eyes.

“He is not there all the time. We have set a time so I know when he will be there,” he explained.

“I see,” I nodded slowly.

Only if I could mind–link Lily that way but my father might be keeping an eye on everyone that was in contact with me. She might be in a very tight spot.

I actually had a question. About his mother. Since I heard the argument he had with Ryker, I could not get it out of my mind. I wanted to know if he really had done that? Had he really killed his mother?

I giggled against his chest and hugged him back. The peace and comfort that I found in his arms was something that I had never felt in the twenty years of my life. While unbeknownst to me in the Ironshade Ridge Pack Silas entered the anniversary celebration of Alpha Benjamin and Luna Marrisa, Seth Darven’s parents and my uncle and aunt, in disguise.

The border wolves aggressively stopped him, “Who the hell are you?!”

He was surrounded by five wolves as the head warrior stopped him half shifted. “How the hell have you managed to enter so far into our territory without being noticed huh?” he demanded.

Silas faked submission and handed over the bouquet to the man, “I just came to deliver this to the Alpha and Luna.”

Silas looked past the man to Alpha Benjamin and Luna Marrisa being greeted by Alpha Darius Nightbane and smiled secretly before replying, “Alpha Seth Darven.”

The man’s eyes widened and he hurriedly asked, “Alpha Seth sent these flowers?!” he grew desperate, “He ran away from the house months ago over his decision to not attend Lupine Academy and now he sent the flowers?! Where is he? Where did he send these flowers from?!” he asked impatiently.

Silas straightened his back and replied, “Lupine Academy,” with which he turned and left with a smile on his lips.
