When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 589

Lemira noticed the surprise and awkwardness on Stella’s face, along with a hint of guilt.

Stella's cheeks were flushed as she finally managed to say, "I'm sorry."

Lemira had expected Stella to offer a long explanation, but the straightforward apology caught her off guard.

After all, members of the Langston family typically wouldn’t apologize directly in such situations. They’d usually come up with a laundry list of excuses and might even try to guilt-trip her.

But Stella wasn’t like that.

Lemira spoke up, "You really should apologize. You were the one who leaked information at the press conference, weren't you?"

Stella nodded, her face still red, "Yes, it was me. I'm sorry."

Lemira pondered for a moment, "Did you think all this time that I was just being rebellious against my family?"

"I did at first. But after spending time with you, I realized you're not like that. So I began to suspect that girl, Evelina, and noticed that Asher treats her differently."

Lemira considered the situation, "Why don't you come back to the Langston family with me for dinner? You'll see for yourself what’s really going on."

"Alright."

Stella agreed readily, not wanting to remain in the dark any longer.

She glanced at Lemira and added cautiously, "I owe you for the press conference incident. I’ll make it up to you."

Lemira was tempted to say that Asher and Stella weren’t a good match.

But she held her tongue; she didn’t want to get too involved in the Langston family’s tangled affairs.

She figured Asher wasn’t the type to settle for being a stay-at-home husband. He must have other motives.

After dinner, Lemira headed to the team base with Janice.

Everyone was already deep into their training.

Lemira noticed Timothy at the computer. His gaming skills and awareness showed real promise, and he had improved significantly over time.

She was reminded of someone from her past life whose style was eerily similar to Timothy's.

Orion’s gaming style was somewhat alike too.

Noticing Timothy's frustration, Lemira said, "I practiced for ages too. You’ve got real talent. With more practice, you’ll definitely get there."

"Thanks, Captain, for teaching me so many techniques. I'll keep working hard."

Lemira checked the time; it was getting late, and everyone else had left.

"I'll walk you back. I’m heading to the dorm too."

After turning off the lights and locking up, Lemira and Timothy walked to the dorms together.

When they reached the dorm building, Timothy paused, "Captain, I want to learn a lot more from you in the coming days. I hope you don’t mind me being a bother."

"Of course not."

Lemira waved goodbye and headed towards the dorm entrance.

As she turned away, she instinctively checked her phone, but there were no messages from Orion.

She glanced at it one last time before slipping it back into her pocket.
