Lemira Langston glanced at the dress stained with red wine.

The smile on her face deepened. “Evelina Sterling, your tricks are as pathetic as ever.”

The “two-faced” girl knew she couldn't have the dress, so she’d rather ruin it and frame her for it.

“Lemmy, you did this on purpose, didn’t you? You wanted me to stain this dress so Asher couldn’t present it to Ms. Waverly, right?”

Before Lemira could finish, someone splashed red wine in her face.

Lemira wiped her face and saw Evander Langston holding the glass. He actually dared to throw wine at her.

Evander pulled Evelina to his side. “Lemira, stop trying to twist things. You ruined the dress because you couldn’t have it, didn’t you?”

Lemira shot him a cold look. “Why would I ruin a dress that doesn’t even belong to Evelina?”

Evander scoffed. “You’re just jealous that Eve gets to wear this dress and you can’t. Asher, are you just going to let Lemira act so arrogantly?”

Asher Langston frowned at Lemira. “This was a birthday gift for Ms. Waverly. Now that you’ve ruined it, how am I supposed to explain this?”

Lemira’s eyes filled with scorn. So, they wanted her to be the scapegoat again?

Before she could speak, Alaric Langston stood up. “Asher, I saw it clearly. It was Evelina who deliberately poured the wine on the dress. Lemira had nothing to do with it; she didn’t even move.”

Evander grew flustered and angry. “That’s only because Lemira’s words scared Eve, making her hand tremble and lose her grip on the glass!”

“Evander, you’re just making baseless accusations and trying to slander Lemira.”

Alaric was furious. He turned to Asher. “Asher, none of this would have happened if Evander hadn't taken it upon himself to let Evelina wear this dress today. The people you should be blaming are Evander and Evelina!”

Asher’s brow furrowed. “Can you all just quiet down? Do you have to cause trouble?”

Evander quickly interjected, “Asher, no matter what, it’s Lemira’s fault the dress got stained. It has nothing to do with Eve.”

“Am I not allowed? I heard it was your family dinner.”

Stella smiled, her eyes landing on Evelina. “That dress looks a little familiar.”

Asher felt like this was the unluckiest day of his life.
