Lemira was a bit surprised when she heard Stella suggest breaking up.
She hadn't expected Stella to be even more decisive than she was.
When Stella mentioned breaking up, Asher was stunned. “You want to break up?”
“Yes. I never realized what kind of people your Langston family was. That woman wore my dress, and you were actually fine with her wearing it home to change, and then giving it back to me?”
Stella’s expression was laced with sarcasm. “Asher, do you really think I need this one dress? How dare you humiliate me like this?”
When Stella heard Asher say those words earlier, she knew he had never really liked her.
Their time together had been a charade.
She might have a physical disability, but she refused to be deceived by a man.
Only then did Asher realize Stella had truly heard everything. He explained nervously, “Stella, that’s not what I meant.”
Stella was firm. “I’m giving you a chance to make it right.”
Asher’s face turned livid. He spun around and walked toward Evelina, who shrank back in fear.
Evander blocked his path. “Asher, what are you doing? You want to strip Eve of her clothes? That’s not appropriate, is it?”
Asher stared coldly at the two of them, his voice low. “Take off the dress. Otherwise, both of you can get out of the Langston family!”
His collaborations with the Waverlies were extensive. If he broke up with Stella, the Langston Group could face a bankruptcy crisis.
Thinking of this, Asher’s gaze grew even colder.
He stared at Evelina. “I know you’ve always been smart. I hope you can make a smart choice now.”
Evelina was furious. Of all the days to run into Ms. Waverly, it had to be today. Damn it!
Of course, she couldn’t anger Asher, and she certainly couldn’t offend Ms. Waverly. Evelina knew Asher had received a lot of investment and business from the Waverlies.

This was all Evander's fault, this idiot. He was the reason she was being humiliated by this cripple, Ms. Waverly.
Evander pointed at Lemira and demanded, “You go change into a uniform too. Wear the same thing as Eve so she won’t feel awkward.”
Hearing this ridiculous request, Lemira retorted coldly, “Why don’t you change into a staff uniform as well? You two would make a matching couple.”
Evander’s expression faltered. “Why would I wear a staff uniform? Lemira, what is this attitude?”
“My attitude matches yours.”
Lemira didn’t give Evander a pleasant look either.
