When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 685

Lemira was still processing what was happening as the man held the back of her head, deepening the kiss.

Just as she was about to resist, he pushed her away forcefully, only to pull her back in.

"I'm sorry. I... I thought I was dreaming."

Orion held Lemira, his breathing heavy. He leaned down and brushed his lips against her ear. "I thought I saw you in my dream, and I was so happy. I'm sorry."

Lemira's face was flushed. She blushed as she pulled away from his embrace.

She asked softly, "When did you get to the hospital last night? Is that project still not resolved?"

She remembered Orion sending her messages about his daily routine, which was mostly work-related.

She recalled one project that had run into trouble and he'd been trying to fix.

A small smile played on Orion's lips. "I thought you never read my messages."

So she did read every single one. How else would she know about the project trouble?

Noticing his look, Lemira turned her head away, her tone a little strained. "I just happened to see it."

Blushing, she got up and went back to sit on her own bed.

Orion rubbed his stiff neck and sat up. There was a bluish shadow of stubble on his chin, and his voice was thick with sleep.

The man looked much more worn-out.

Lemira pressed her lips together. "How is your grandmother? I called you last night but you didn't answer. I fell asleep while waiting."

"She's fine now. Her health has always been fragile. Don't worry about it."

Orion looked at her. "What did my grandmother say to you?"

Lemira grew nervous and lowered her eyes. "Nothing much, we just chatted a bit."

Orion fell silent for a moment, then gave a wry smile. "You don't have to hide it. I already know from the butler. It's not hard to guess."
