"It's just a PR team, my personal assistants, really. There's no 'watching' involved."

Lemira's calm response infuriated Mrs. Amelia.

Mrs. Amelia sneered. "Lemira, have you been watching too many TV dramas? Is this the first time you've had this kind of treatment?"

"Mrs. Amelia, have you forgotten? While the Langston family might not rank high in Orvin, back in Lyria, we have status."

"Status? With a company as insignificant as yours? Don't flatter yourself."

Lemira's gaze was cold. "From what I hear, the Sinclair family has been mismanaged for years and is on the brink of collapse. If it weren't for the charity contracts from the Everharts, you would have gone bankrupt long ago, falling even below the Langstons."

The color drained from Mrs. Amelia's face. "Where did you hear such rumors?"

"Whether it's a rumor or not, you know the truth, Mrs. Amelia. It's also why you're so shamelessly pushing for an engagement with Orion."

"Lemira, stop acting so high and mighty. My daughter was right, that expression of yours is truly infuriating."
