When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 34

Just then, Yosef and his bodyguards emerged from the hotel, witnessing the chaotic scene. He walked past the Coleman family without a glance.

Suddenly, Jolie shouted, “Matteo, it’s that man!”

Yosef paused for a fraction of a second.

Jolie was seething. She’d been hit, her son had been hit, and even her husband had been hit. Matteo was the one who had upset Henrietta, yet her family was bearing the brunt of the consequences.

Her resentment found a target. She pointed directly at Yosef. “It’s him! Henrietta dumped you because she saw him and realized he was richer and more powerful! She’s fallen for him!”

This time, Yosef stopped completely.

Matteo looked at Yosef. The man exuded a natural, aristocratic air, a kingly presence that made it clear he was leagues above him. So Matteo dared not say a word.

One of Yosef’s bodyguards stepped forward and slapped Jolie across the face. “My boss was just passing by, and you’ve tried to slander him twice now! Are you looking to die?” he snarled.

The Colemans were terrified into silence.

Yosef gave a subtle flick of his fingers to his guards. “Teach them a lesson,” he said coldly. Then he turned and walked away.

The Coleman family was beaten again. Pamela fainted from the shock and rage, and only then did the bodyguards stop. Matteo frantically called for an ambulance.

When a fleet of luxury cars pulled up, Matteo froze. Such an impressive entourage… who was this man? Could Henrietta really have…

No, impossible. Henrietta loved him. She loved him deeply!

With her family background, she could have had any rich man she wanted long ago. She was just angry he hadn’t wished her a happy birthday. And he had to admit, he had been negligent. In previous years, even when she didn’t have big parties, he had always been the one to plan everything, doing whatever he could to make her happy. This time, he’d forgotten to even say the words, and he hadn't prepared a gift, only the engagement rings.
