When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 59

Matteo stopped.

“Is this your sincerity?” Henrietta asked. “Sending Artina in here to antagonize me?”

Matteo spun around, his heart pounding with panic. Had Artina let something slip?

“What do you mean?”

“She came to me deliberately,” Henrietta said. “Told me she likes you, that she’s going to pursue you. She even asked if I minded, if I was afraid she would succeed. Matteo, when did Artina develop these feelings for you? Was it when you were filming together…?”

“No!” Matteo denied vehemently. “She’s insane! Why would she say those things to you? I’m going to have a word with her!”

Matteo stormed out, looking genuinely furious and ready to confront Artina.

Henrietta’s lips tightened into a thin line. Those two idiots! Did they really think their little “pursuit” charade could fool or humiliate her? All Artina wanted was an excuse—now that they had broken up—to openly flirt with and profess her love for Matteo at the company. Did she really think Henrietta would let her get away with it?

...

Artina was crying tears of frustration. She had gone to Henrietta’s office to gloat and humiliate her, only to leave seething with anger. If Henrietta really did end up with a Nash, what good was Matteo? The Nash family was on a completely different level. Yosef Nash was the man every woman in Juno City dreamed of marrying!

Still fuming, she was summoned by her film crew. They had been scheduled to resume filming today, but the company meeting had caused a delay.

Just as Artina was about to leave with the crew, Matteo appeared, his face a thundercloud.

A crew member said, “Perfect timing, Matteo, we can all head out together…”

Before he could finish, Matteo slapped Artina across the face. “What the hell were you thinking, going to Ms. Sargent and spouting all that nonsense?”

Artina was stunned. Before she could react, Matteo continued, “I’m warning you, I only love Henrietta! Who the hell do you think you are, trying to pursue me? Get lost!”
