When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 68

“I’m not hungry,” Henrietta stated clearly. “I want to go home.”

Yosef’s cool gaze shifted to Joaquin. “Mr. Leland.”

That was all it took. Joaquin’s hand dropped from the car door.

Just by standing there, Yosef’s aura of command was overwhelmingly dominant. Although Henrietta and Joaquin both possessed a strong presence due to their backgrounds, making them appear as leaders to ordinary people, in front of him… they felt like schoolchildren before the principal. He didn’t even have to say anything else.

Joaquin, thoroughly embarrassed, managed a strained smile. “My apologies, Ms. Sargent. I failed to consider your feelings.”

Henrietta didn’t reply, simply opening her car door and sliding inside. Her silence was a clear dismissal.

His pride completely shattered, Joaquin could only say, “Drive safely, Ms. Sargent.”

This time, Henrietta gave a slight nod. They moved in the same circles; there was no need to burn bridges unless absolutely necessary. Besides, neither was truly in the wrong—they were just incompatible. She didn’t want to escalate things.

Joaquin turned to Yosef. “Mr. Nash, I’ll be leaving now.”

Yosef remained silent. As Joaquin walked away, he looked at Henrietta in the car. “Be safe.”

“Thank you.”

Yosef gave a cool, almost imperceptible nod and turned to leave, his bodyguards falling in line behind him.

Henrietta took a deep breath, shut the door, and engaged the locks, letting out a sigh of relief. What a dreadful dating experience. Maybe she should just stop altogether.

As she drove off, she passed Yosef and his men. Politeness compelled her to lower the window and give a small wave. “Goodbye, Mr. Nash.”
