Henrietta stopped and turned to look at Cheryl. With her high-bridged nose, large eyes, and sharp chin, Cheryl was undeniably beautiful. Her figure was stunning, exuding a fiery allure. She was dressed in a black business suit with a skirt, complete with black stockings and high heels. Her makeup was heavy, with fiery red lipstick and a perfume that was hard to ignore.
Since Henrietta had stopped, Cheryl and Calvert, who were following her, had no choice but to stop as well.
Calvert shot Cheryl an annoyed look. “Can’t you keep your mouth shut?”
Cheryl remained silent.
Henrietta spoke up. “Was that a message from Mr. Nash?”
Cheryl paused for a second before shaking her head. “No. Mr. Nash is a gentleman; he would never say such a thing. I was just speaking on his behalf. It’s usually others who wait for him, never the other way around.”
“Oh.” Henrietta raised an eyebrow, a faint smile playing on her lips. “Such loyalty.”
Cheryl flinched, catching the sarcastic undertone.
“I wasn’t delayed, and the motorcade was traveling at a normal speed. I never instructed anyone to drive slowly,” Henrietta said calmly. “If Mr. Nash arrived early, it was likely out of his own eagerness to be a gracious host. His hospitality is impeccable. Why is it that when you speak for him, you manage to tarnish his reputation?”
Cheryl frowned. “What nonsense are you talking about? Are you deliberately twisting my words?”
“If I hadn't asked, I might have assumed those were his sentiments,” Henrietta replied. “I’m an ordinary person; I don’t play games to appear important. But when it comes to status, I imagine mine is a bit higher than yours.”
“You!” Cheryl was visibly angry now. “I work for Mr. Nash! I’m the Executive Assistant at Y-N Group, and I personally attend to his needs. Do I need to remind you of the gap between the Sargent family and the Nash family? If you were just a Sargent, my position would grant me far more prestige than you. And Mr. Nash’s status is on a level you can’t even begin to comprehend!”
“Oh?” Henrietta raised an eyebrow and clapped softly. “Well, good for you, Executive Assistant.”
