Wife You Discarded is a Billionaire's Crush novel Chapter 46

Sylvia sent the photo to Diana, then put her phone away and continued eating.

Neither of them ate very much, and the food was largely left untouched.

Cedric wasn't used to takeout; he had to admit that Liliana was an excellent cook. Two years with her had spoiled his palate. But he didn't see this as anything special.

A housewife was supposed to be a good cook, wasn't she?

After dinner, it was already ten o'clock. He left the office and drove home. Sylvia stood at his office window, looking out over the city's glittering nightscape. She took another photo and sent it to Diana.

[Sis, I miss home!] Diana replied on WhatsApp with a crying emoji.

Sylvia: [Just focus on getting better. Cedric will arrange for you to come back as soon as they find a suitable donor.]

Diana teased: [When I come back, will I have to start calling him my brother-in-law?]

[Don't be ridiculous. I told you, Cedric is married. You need to be mindful of what you say and do!]

Cedric's marriage wasn't public knowledge, but Sylvia had overheard Timothy on the phone one day. Once you knew it existed, it wasn't hard to find out who his wife was.

Sylvia gazed at a picture of Cedric on her desk, her eyes filled with adoration. Ever since she could remember, he had been a beacon of light in her world. She had been in love with him for twelve years. Whatever the story was behind his marriage, in her mind, Liliana was the third party, the one who had gotten in their way. If it weren't for Liliana, she was sure she would have won his heart by now.

But she couldn't rush things. Cedric hadn't accepted her yet. Still, she suspected he hadn't accepted Liliana either. Why else would he keep her a secret? Their relationship was unstable, which meant she still had a chance. She could wait.

A pair of headlights swept across the window as a Maybach pulled into the driveway. Liliana wiped her eyes and watched the man enter the house.

Cedric was shrugging off his coat as his eyes fell on her. Normally, she would have met him at the door to take it from him. But tonight, she remained seated. He frowned slightly.

He strode into the dining room, casually draping his coat over the back of a chair. From his pocket, he produced a small bottle and placed it on the table in front of her.

"Take it within twenty-four hours. You'll be fine."

It was a morning-after pill. He had gotten it from somewhere, a brand that supposedly had no side effects. After their wild night, she had been so exhausted and preoccupied with the interview that she had completely forgotten.

But he had remembered.
