Wife You Discarded is a Billionaire's Crush novel Chapter 72

Timothy must have changed his clothes, because the smell of alcohol on him was less potent than it had been downstairs. He was wearing gray loungewear that clung to his muscular frame. His handsome face was peaceful, his thin lips slightly parted. A faint shadow of stubble dusted his chin, adding a rugged, sexy edge to his appearance. He was sleeping soundly, his chest rising and falling gently, the corners of his eyes flushed red. He had clearly drunk a lot, but it didn't look fatal.

Liliana took a deep breath and leaned over to wipe his face with the towel. He was fine. The knot of anxiety in her chest loosened. She knew she should leave now. But he was so deeply asleep, he wouldn't wake up. It wouldn't hurt to just tidy up a bit before she left.

After wiping his face, she unbuttoned the top of his shirt to clean his neck and chest. She had been in such a rush to get here, her mind a chaotic mess. She'd left the car window open, hoping the cold air would clear her head. It had worked on her mind, but her body was now freezing, her fingertips numb.

The moment her cool fingers touched his warm chest, his thick eyelashes fluttered. Cedric's hand shot up and clamped around her wrist as his eyes cracked open. His gaze fell on Liliana's delicate features, softened and angelic in the warm glow of the lamp. Her dark eyes were wide with panic.

Liliana never expected him to wake up. She tried to pull her hand away, but he only tightened his grip, yanking her forward until she tumbled onto his chest. She was wearing a knee-length pencil skirt and a white blouse. The impact caused two of the buttons on her shirt to pop open, revealing a glimpse of a pale pink lace bra that struggled to contain her curves.

The sight of her soft, white skin and the feel of her supple body against his sent a jolt through Cedric. Her ear was pressed against his jaw, the rough stubble scratching at her tender skin, a sensation that was both painful and ticklish. As she came to her senses, she struggled to push herself off him. But his other arm snaked around her waist, pinning her to him.

She planted her hands on his chest and met his gaze. He said nothing. The sight of her glistening eyes immediately brought to mind the hazy, love-drunk look she had in the throes of passion.

It wasn't exactly a lie. He had been drinking, and quite a lot. He had simply not stopped Timothy from calling her. He ran his hand down her body, feeling the smooth fabric of her skirt clinging to her rounded hips. The warmth of her skin beneath the thin material made his throat tighten. His gaze dropped to her pert bottom. The way she was lying on top of him had caused her skirt to ride up, revealing the tops of her long, pale thighs.

*Dressed like this in the middle of the night… she was obviously trying to seduce him.*

What was she pretending for?
