Yes Daddy (by Red Inkling) novel Chapter 54

MONALISA

“This is so fun!” I let out an excited scream that got drowned in the noise of the club anyways.

“I know, right?” Irene chuckled, lifting a glass of beer to her lips and chugging down half the contents.

“But you look like you are hiding something behind those wide smiles. They don’t look genuine” She pointed out while I took a large gulp right from the bottle.

“Hiding something? Of course not” I shook my head and flashed her an even bigger smile.

“Oh, you are but you don’t want to share” Irene pointed out and for a moment, the smile on my face vanished completely.

I was truly trying to hide the hurt in me. All day and I had not gotten a message from him. He was most definitely bored.

“Is this about me confessing my feelings to you?” Irene asked and I shook my head.

“Not at all. Far from that”

“Then what is it? Having issues at home? Or…” she narrowed her eyes at me.

“Is this about your friend with benefit?” She asked and I just could not tell her the truth.

“I am fine. Really” I masked up with a fake smile and took another gulp of liquor, then rose up to my feet.

“It’s not clubbing if we just sit still so let’s dance!” I yelled out the words and Irene brought out her phone.

For a second, she seemed to be busy with her phone and then she got up too.

“I will be back. Don’t mix up with the wild crowd on the other side” She said.

“Where are you going to?” I asked.

“Uhm… To the restroom” She replied, her eyes a bit insincere but in that moment, I wasn’t very concerned about the look in her eyes.  j  o  b  n  i  b    .  c  o  m  “Alright”. I watched as Irene made her way through the crowd and disappeared into the midst of them. As soon as she was gone, I plopped back to a seat, my face falling and the fake smiles vanishing.

The loud music in my head did nothing in cheering me up and I just remained there for the next minute. But after a minute, I pulled myself up to my feet and downed what was left in my bottle of beer.

Doing a small swirl with a faltering step, I flicked my hair back and walked into the midst of those dancing. I tried my best to lose myself in the loud music and my dancing steps, which were totally disorganized by the way.

The alcohol made it easier for me to get into it and soon I was dancing away, throwing my hands up and screaming in excitement but soon, I felt someone brush past me intentionally.

I ignored it though and continued partying until I felt someone else bump into me, hard. I staggered back and looked at the man who had just bumped into me.

“Don’t bump so hard into me. Watch it” I drawled and he stared at me with a dangerous glare in his eyes but drunk me couldn’t care about the dangerous aura that surrounded him.

“Don’t be so…” I felt someone yank me back by my arm. With a stagger, I fell back into the arms of the person who had yanked me back and almost instantly, the cologne hit me. It was him! Lucius Devine. I raised my hazy eyes up and affirmed it, seeing his face.

He had a stony, cold look as he looked into the eyes of the man who had bumped into me earlier.

“I am sorry” the man stuttered and was about to walk away when two men grabbed him, each one grabbed his hand and he was pulled away.

“Take him away. Keep him alive” I heard Lucius say.

As soon as the jerk who had bumped into me was pulled away, I pulled myself out of Lucius’ grip. Why was he here now? Or was it someone else and my mind was just befuddled with alcohol to see clearly?

Standing two steps away from him, I rubbed my eyes and looked back at him. It was really Lucius Devine. What was I thinking? It had to be him, I could not mistake his cologne.
