LISA
I brushed my dress with my hands as I made my way back to the car from the restroom I had left to make use of. Lucius and I were now going back home after the day. I had enjoyed the day with him. A whole lot.
A soft giggle left my lips as I walked through the small field to get back to the car. Devine had insisted on carrying me to the restroom but I had assured him I could make the small journey on my own. 1
“Hey” I heard a voice behind me and stopped in my tracks. It was Leon. 2
Yet again? Did he not get enough warning from Devine already?
“Yes, Leon?” I faked a small smile.
“It’s been a while since we last spoke. You are glowing” he said with a smile on his face.
“Oh, thank you”
“So the man from earlier is your man?” He asked and for a second I didn’t know what to respond with.
Lucius wasn’t MY man but he had called me his woman earlier so I could just call him mine this one time too. “Yes, he is” I affirmed with a nod.
“And he loves you the way you want to be loved?” He asked and the fake smile on my face vanished completely. “Yes, he does and I don’t know why you asked that question” I replied sternly.
“I just asked casually to know if you are really happy now” he replied.
“Much more happier than I thought I could ever be” I replied and he took a step closer to me.
I refused to take a step back and appear intimidated by him.
“I have actually kind of missed you, Lisa. And if there’s a chance for me, if you still have any feelings for me at all, I would love us to try again.”
I let out a chuckle, dropped my gaze and laughed softly before looking back at him. 1
“You really think I would leave a man and return to you? You really think I would go back to the days when I had low confidence about my body? You think I would leave the man who makes me feel like a woman and come back to you who told me I should go and be a virgin nun for life?” I asked and I saw a crossed look on his face but I didn’t care one bit.
“I don’t know what exactly the problem was back then but I wasn’t the problem. It was either you or US.” I added.
“Oh, I see. So you went to him for sexual satisfaction? Wonderful! Typical thing for a cheap slut to do!” He said, raising his voice.
“Did you just call me a cheap slut? Damnit, I shouldn’t have told Lucius that we aren’t enemies”
“And what would he have done?” Leon cackled.
“Perhaps break your nose? Anyways, I am done here! Keep your boyish skills to yourself, I don’t want them”
I turned to leave but he suddenly grabbed me by the arm, holding me tightly.
“Let go of me!” I winced.
“What the fuck is going on here?”
It was Devine’s voice and I had never felt so much relief in my life.
Leon immediately let go of me as Lucius walked over to us with a deadly look on his face. But before Lucius could get to us, Leon had let go of my arm and hurried off.
“Are you okay?” Lucius asked worriedly, taking my arm in his hand tenderly as soon as he got to me.
“Y… Yes” I replied and he raised his gaze to see Leon walking off.
“That little bastard got your skin all reddened up” his voice had deepened with danger.
“Let’s just go home, please” I said to him.
“Fine, let’s go home” he scooped me up in his arms, kissed my forehead and walked off to the car.
