Yes Daddy (by Red Inkling) novel Chapter 72

MONALISA

Irene wasn’t in school too and no one had seen her at all the previous day too. I was getting heavily worried by the second and I kept glancing at my wristwatch, impatient to finish this last lecture.

Finally the lecture was over, I picked my bag, opened it and dropped my iPad in it. I was zipping the bag to a close when I felt the presence of a familiar person. Familiar but unwanted.

Francesca.

I raised my head up with a firm look on my face.

“What?” I asked before she could even say a word. I was over the betrayal. Well over it and I had Lucius and Irene with me so what else did I need?

“Oh, someone has sure gotten bolder” she grinned.

“Francesca” I groaned her name.

“If you are here to say trash, then I am not in for it. And if you are here to see how miserable I am doing, then you should leave right now because I am far from being miserable” I said to her and her gaze fell on my neck.

The hickey. She saw it and her gaze lasted on it for a few seconds before she looked back at my face. I wasn’t even shy about it as I flicked my hair to the other side to expose my neck even more.

I felt proud to have a mark that showed and proved that I wasn’t doing miserably like she wanted me to.

“That smile on your face” Francesca gritted her teeth with unbelievable hatred in her eyes.

How could she hate me this much and be my friend for years?

“I am going to wipe that smile off your face soon. That hickey you are so proud of would be something you will be striving so hard to get rid of” she threatened and then stepped away from me.

I watched as she walked off, still confused about her words. What was Francesca planning this time around?

“I don’t have to bother myself mindlessly though” I said to myself before getting on my feet with my bag in hand.

It was time for me to go to Lucius’ hotel so I could see Irene’s mum. I was barely out of class when my phone rang.

It was Lucius. I smiled before picking the call and taking the phone to my ear.

“Hello”

“Hello Cupcake”

That voice. That deep, comforting voice.

“How is your day going?” He asked.

“Perfectly well. It has been great so far”

“Hmm… That’s good. Want me to take you shopping later?” He asked.

“I would love to but not today. It’s a bit late already and I really want to go to your company and see Irene’s mum so I can ask her about Irene. I haven’t been able to contact Irene since yesterday”

“Irene” he mumbled the name as if trying to recollect something.

“Oh, her.”

“Yes, the girl who was with me at your hotel the other day. She is the daughter of the hotel’s manager”

“If that’s the case, then you don’t have to worry. I sent the manager on a trip and it is a quite desolated area. I handed her two tickets since she demanded for that so she probably took her daughter along. There are certain areas with network so when she reaches out to me, I will just let you talk to Irene, okay?” 1

“Oh, I see” I sighed in relief.

“Irene could have told me about it though”

“I have no idea why she wouldn’t. But since you aren’t going to the hotel anymore, want me to take you out?” He asked again.
