LISA
“Remove every jewelry on her.” I heard the voice distantly. It was a masculine voice and even though my eyes were closed and I couldn’t find the strength to open them, I knew that it had to be a man in his late forties or early fifties at the very least. “Yes sir” I heard a feminine voice I knew belonged to Irene.
Irene. Yes, she was the reason I was here. She was the one who injected me with some unknown substance and she was the one who brought me here.
I had done nothing wrong to her, right? Why did I have such luck at having friends? Why is no one a true friend to me? Francesca, Leon, Bryant and now Francesca? Why is there no one who is in a sincere relationship with me? 2
Lucius. He is the only who loves me. The only who is sincere with me is Lucius Devine. If only I could reach him. No, if only I had waited for him and not go to see Irene.
I felt my earrings being removed from my ears and then my hair clip and then I felt the hand on my wrist, attempting to remove the bracelet Lucius had given to me.
I shook my wrist with all the strength I had in me, recalling that Lucius had told me to never ever remove it but my little strength was not enough to even count as resistance.
The bracelet was removed from my wrist. I knew I was tied to a chair, my legs were tied and my hands were tied behind me too. “Throw everything into the fire” I heard the masculine voice order.
“Yes sir” Irene replied.
How did Irene get into this? Why was she taking orders from this man? Or had she always been into this?
I didn’t even know what to think.
“I know you can hear me now” I heard the man say.
“I will wait until you are strong enough to open your eyes” he added and then silence fell in the room.
For about a minute, there was not a word said in the room and then I felt strong enough to open your eyes. 1
Opening my eyes dimly, I slowly took in the room. It was a small room, painted white and there was a shelf on the wall.
It was in front of the wall that the man who had been speaking earlier was seated, on a chair.
He had his gaze on me and it made me shiver in fear. He was looking at me like a hunter looking at his prey.
“Now that your eyes are opened, you look really beautiful” he grinned menacingly.
“I now understand why Lucius fell in love with you”
Lucius? How was he related to me being kidnapped by this man and Irene? Was it his relation with this that made him lie to me about Irene’s disappearance?
Even with how weak I was feeling, my brain was working on overdrive, seeking answers to the questions that were increasing by the second.
I turned my head slightly and my still dim gaze fell on Irene. She immediately looked away from my gaze the second our eyes met.
“What did I do wrong to you?” I asked in a whisper.
The man sitting on the chair stood up and walked towards me, the grin not leaving his face.
“Which will be more exciting?” He asked as he walked closer.
“Killing you and throwing your corpse to Lucius the moment he walks in here? Or letting him get here before I drive bullets into your lovely body so he watches life leave you?” He asked and I shook my head in fear.
