Yes Daddy (by Red Inkling) novel Chapter 91

MONALISA

“We are here” Mum said softly as we walked into the hotel room we had just booked for the night.

“We will be here only for tonight. Tomorrow, we will leave for a friend’s place and be there till I finalize renting an apartment. But I am also thinking about buying a house. I have saved up enough to do so” Mum added but I really didn’t have it in me to give a single response.

There was nothing I wanted to do more than jump onto the comfy looking bed and cry myself to sleep. Today was the worst day of my life. 1

I glanced at the clock on the bedside table and realized it was a new day already.

“Mum” I called in a weak voice and I saw tears gather in her eyes instantly but she took in a deep breath and just hugged me again.

“I really want to ask him why he did that. I really want to ask him why he killed Seb and acted like a true friend for years. I really want to know” mum sobbed and I patted her back.

My eyes stung but the tears were not pouring out like earlier. It seemed like I was quickly running out of tears to shed. Holding each other, my mum and I found our way to the bed and laid on it.

We didn’t say a word to each other, not even a word of consolation. We were silent, sobbing at times and just sniffling back tears at times until I finally fell asleep.

I looked like a total mess, a shadow of what I used to look like. And I didn’t have to look into the mirror to come to that conclusion.

I ran a hand through my hair. I was going to make amends in whatever way I could.

I walked down the stairs into the living room and then walked out of the mansion and proceeded to go to the mansion opposite mine.

Lisa could not have told her mum about it. I was pretty sure about that. But the moment I was there, I noticed the air. It just did not feel right.

I unlocked the door and walked into the home. I could feel a type of anxiety building up quickly inside of me. How was Lisa going to react this morning? Was she going to be calmer than she was last night?

“Cupcake?” I called out on getting to the living room.

I caught sight of an unfinished glass of wine but I paid no attention to it.

“Cupcake?” I called again but still yet, there was no response.

My brows arched and the anxiety in me was quickly replaced by a sense of urgency.

“Cupcake!” I called loudly, going up the stairs already.

A quick look around and I knew Lisa wasn’t here.

“Fuck. Where could she have gone to?”

I brought out my phone and dialed her contact before recalling that she had lost her phone the previous day. I cursed underneath my breath and dialed another contact.

“When did Lisa leave here?” I asked immediately the call was answered, cutting off the greeting the guy on the other side had intended on saying.

“She left late last night with her mum, boss”

“Her mum?” My brows arched.

“Yes boss”

I let the phone down from my ear and ended that call. The words repeated in my head. ‘With her mum’

Did Lisa tell her mum about the fact that I killed Seb?
