Tanya arrived at the Yelchin estate, carrying several bags from her car. Inside, Starla was trying on a red diamond bracelet that Garret had brought for her.

“What brings you here?” she asked, seeing Tanya laden with gifts. “And with all this stuff?”

“Herbert sent it,” Tanya replied.

With all the schemes to make the Yelchins miserable, Starla had forgotten about her promise of a meal with Herbert. But she couldn’t leave the estate anyway; the most effective way to torment the family was to stay right where she was.

“These look like health supplements. I’ll have the nutritionist prepare them for you.” Tanya handed the bags to Garret, who passed them to a servant to take to the kitchen.

Starla was sipping a nourishing broth, and Tanya poured herself a cup. “Wow, this is potent,” she remarked, the rich aroma alone telling her how beneficial it was. Starla’s body certainly needed the nourishment.

Starla offered Tanya a piece of grilled fruit on a fork, which Tanya popped into her mouth. “On my way here, I saw those three walking on the road,” she said. “What’s that about?”

“We’re cutting down on household expenses. Cars burn too much fuel, so I’ve restricted their use.”

Tanya was momentarily stunned, then a look of pure delight spread across her face. “You are brilliant! You should have seen the miserable looks on their faces.”
