Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 85

Janina flinched as her phone was nearly knocked from her grasp. A sense of caution washed over her.

Seeing her reaction, the old man seemed to realize his action had been misinterpreted. He quickly leaned back, waving his hands defensively.

"Don't misunderstand. I just want to go home with you. How about this: you take me in, and I'll take you as my apprentice?"

Dealing with such a persistent person, Janina's patience wore thin. She got out of the car and opened the back door.

"Sir, I really can't help you. Let me buy you some food, but you need to get out of the car."

The old man scooted to the other side of the seat.

"You foolish girl! People would kill to learn my medical skills, and you're turning your nose up at it. Hmph!"

Medical skills?

Recalling how he had accurately identified her twin pregnancy, she couldn't help but wonder if this man truly knew medicine.

If so, then maybe her parents…

With that thought, Janina asked one more time, "You really know medicine?"

The old man rolled his eyes, as if her skepticism was a grave insult. "A ridiculous question. I am a master healer."

An idea began to form in Janina's mind. She quickly called Easton. If this old man was truly a master healer, bringing him home might offer some hope for her parents' recovery.

Still, she didn't dare bring a stranger back alone. With Easton there, she would feel safer.

It was a long shot, but in a world full of extraordinary people, maybe this old man really was a master healer.

Twenty minutes later, Easton arrived in a taxi.

All three got into Janina's car. Easton sat in the back with the old man, his eyes fixed on him, wary of any sudden moves.

The old man, however, slept soundly the entire way.

When Ethan and Grace saw their children return with a filthy old man, they were stunned. They knew Easton had gone to pick up his sister, but they never expected him to bring back a disheveled stranger.

"Nina, who is this?"

They assumed he was an old friend of Janina's.

Before Janina could speak, the old man, hands clasped behind his back and eyes narrowed in an arrogant squint, answered for himself. "A master healer."
