"Well, well, isn't it Mr. Aurelius? What's this? Taking your little girlfriend out… Don't tell me you two have some good news! Are you going to be a daddy?"
Maggie's eyes, filled with a mix of disdain and sarcasm, drifted pointedly to Yvonne's stomach.
"Maggie, don't talk nonsense. Yvonne wasn't feeling well, so I brought her for a check-up. That's all," Julius retorted immediately.
Maggie's gaze flickered to Yvonne's flushed, vixen-like face.
She noticed a bandage on Yvonne's left ring finger and let out a cold laugh.
"Oh, not feeling well? You should definitely see a doctor for that. An injury like that, if left untreated, could get infected. You might even need an amputation."
"Maggie! Don't be so condescending. We haven't done anything to you," Julius snapped, his anger rising. She was clearly here just to mock them.
Yvonne, humiliated by Maggie's words, felt a surge of hatred. On the surface, however, she played the part of a victim, her eyes welling with tears as she struggled to maintain her composure.
She bit her lower lip, looking utterly wronged. "Miss Maggie, I've done nothing to offend you. Why would you say such things about us?"
"Hey, let's be clear. I'm not saying anything bad. I'm wishing you well! A beautiful baby, a long life together… may the scumbag and the bitch be chained to each other for eternity!"
Maggie had no intention of coddling them. The memory of what Julius's family had done to Janina still made her blood boil. If it weren't for the legal consequences, she would have marched over and slapped them both.
Julius glared at Maggie, enraged. He hated it when people misunderstood his relationship with Yvonne, especially when the person doing it was one of Janina's friends.
"Maggie, have you no decency? Say one more word, and I'll sue you for slander."
Maggie rolled her eyes and casually flipped her hair.
"Your little girlfriend was the reason you and Nina got divorced, wasn't she? You got what you wanted, so what's the problem? Playing the victim now? My Nina finally saw you for who you are. But that's okay. At least she managed to throw out the trash in time."
