After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 124

Jennifer nodded at Sophia’s idea, a little too eagerly. “Ethan, Sophia’s right. Why not let Isabella stay home and play housewife? She can handle the cleaning, the shopping, and cooking too.”

Ethan was particular about the house. Even the smallest mess could set him off. Without the housekeepers, Isabella would have to clean nonstop. She’d be exhausted. No wonder Jennifer and Sophia were so in sync, both of them thinking up the same punishment.

Ethan took a sip of water, set his glass down, and looked straight at them. “Isabella talked to me about her plans. She wants to start a business, open a shop, maybe get involved in producing a show. She’s got her goals, and I think that’s a good thing.”

“I support her, completely.”

“There’s nothing that says the women in our family can’t have their own careers. My grandmother was a legend in business when she was young. It’s only in your generation, Mom, that the women stayed home, and that’s where this whole idea about Adams women not having public lives comes from.”

The Adams family did have its rules, but those were for the women living at the family estate. Isabella didn’t live there, and Ethan never planned to hold her back with those old traditions.

Mostly, he was worried that if Isabella was bored, she’d start picking fights with Natalie. She already barely acknowledged her. If she was stuck at home with nothing to do, she’d probably spend all her energy making trouble for Natalie.

But of course, Ethan kept that reason to himself.
