After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 137

Everyone except Jordan and Natalie.

It was only in the past few years that Jackson started thinking about her future. He wanted to make sure she’d be comfortable when she was older. He offered to buy her a house, set aside some money for her, and even bought her a shop. He said that if he wasn’t around anymore, and Jordan ever tried to kick her out, she’d at least have that shop to rent out and a steady income to fall back on.

He even started buying her nice things, like luxury bags and real jewelry. It was different from before, when all she could do was borrow pieces from the family collection but never really keep anything for herself. Jackson told her that if things ever got tough, she could just sell the jewelry for cash.

Jackson was finally making sure her future was secure. All those years of swallowing her pride had finally paid off. And since Isabella was her only child, everything she had would eventually go to her daughter.

Isabella never told her mom the truth. She never explained that being the Lane family’s adopted daughter was the only reason Ethan noticed her in the first place. That was why he toyed with her feelings and used her for his own gain. She only ever talked about it with Laura. Nobody else knew.

If she hadn’t been adopted by the Lane family, she never would have met Ethan. He never would have used her, Natalie would never have seen her as a threat, and she wouldn’t have ended up dead in her last life. The worst part was, after she died, Cynthia still blamed her. Cynthia didn’t even bother to claim her body.

They were mother and daughter, and there was a real bond between them. But when Isabella thought back on everything that happened before, she couldn’t help feeling a little resentful toward her mom.

“Call Natalie right now and tell her you’ll go shopping with her,” Cynthia told her. “You’re just sitting around at home anyway. It won’t hurt you to keep her company for a while.”

“If you don’t have money to buy anything, I’ll send you some. Get yourself something nice.”

“Mom, I’m busy. I’m starting my own business and I can barely keep up right now. I’ve got to go. I have to go with Ethan to a business gala tonight.”
