After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 219

Jennifer glared at her, eyes icy and sharp.

“What time do you call this? Out all day, running wild. Isabella, do you even remember who you are?”

Isabella kept a straight face as she pulled out her phone to check the time. “It’s eight in the evening. That’s not late at all. For people who like to go out at night, the fun’s just getting started.”

“I wasn’t running around for nothing. I was working. And as for who I am… didn’t you say you’d never recognize me as Mrs. Adams anyway?”

Jennifer’s face turned red with anger. “Isabella, what is wrong with you? I’m your elder. How dare you speak to me like that? Is that what your mother taught you? No manners at all.”

“I don’t think I was being disrespectful,” Isabella said, unfazed. “I wasn’t yelling. I didn’t insult you. I just answered honestly. How is that rude? My mom taught me to tell the truth. She never said I should lie. If being honest means I have no manners, then so be it.”

Jennifer was at a loss for words.

“I’m moving in,” she announced suddenly.

“This is Ethan’s house. If you want to stay, you can. You don’t need my permission.” Isabella knew she couldn’t stop her even if she wanted to.

“I want the room you’re in. It has the best light. You’ll move out.”

Jennifer obviously wasn’t about to ask Ethan to give up the master bedroom for her, and she wasn’t planning to stay long anyway. Isabella’s room was technically just a guest room, but it did get a lot of sun. Honestly, even if it didn’t, Jennifer would have insisted on it just to make things difficult for her.

“There are plenty of rooms here,” Isabella said, voice calm. “They all have good light and great views. You could easily pick another one.”
