After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 254

It took Cynthia a whole half hour to get to Isabella’s studio. Isabella was already waiting outside, having come down a couple of minutes early. As soon as she spotted Cynthia’s familiar car, she walked over, smiling.

Cynthia pulled up and rolled down the window.

“Mom, was traffic bad? You took forever,” Isabella teased. “I’ll just leave my car here and ride with you. When we’re done, you can drop me back.”

Ethan’s place was in the opposite direction from the Lane house, and Isabella didn’t want her mom to make an extra trip.

Cynthia unlocked the doors so Isabella could hop in.

Once they were both settled, Cynthia asked, “So, where are we eating? Should we call Laura? Evelyn treats you so well, always sending snacks through Laura. If we’re having a nice meal, we shouldn’t leave her out.”

“I already checked. She’s gone back to her parents’ place. Evelyn cooked something special and wanted her home for dinner,” Isabella replied.

Cynthia let it go. She genuinely liked Laura and was glad Isabella had such a close friend.

Instead of heading to The Cabinda Hotel, Isabella took her mom to a little spot she and Laura loved. The food there was always fresh and delicious, and it didn’t cost a fortune. The only downside was the wait, but since it was still early, they didn’t mind. They could use the time to catch up.

“When you called earlier, I’d just gotten back home,” Cynthia started, sighing a little. “Natalie didn’t look thrilled that I was heading out again.”
