After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 263

He paused for a second and added, “I’m free this weekend.”

It was obvious he wanted her to invite him to dinner.

“Alright, I’ll treat you and Barbara to dinner this weekend. Harold, it’s really late. You should head home and get some rest.”

Harold waited until she walked back to the villa and locked the front door before he finally drove off.

As Isabella turned around, she almost crashed straight into Ethan. He was standing right behind her, silent as a ghost. She nearly screamed.

“Ethan, are you trying to haunt me? You walk around without making a sound. Weren’t you supposed to be drunk? Or are you just pretending?”

Ethan looked at her, his voice low and a little hurt. “I’ve given you all that money, and you’ve never once invited me out for dinner.”

Isabella rolled her eyes. “Ethan, your taste is so picky. I can’t afford to treat you.”

“You bothered Harold all night, and he still gave us a ride home. We owe him, don’t we? Shouldn’t you at least buy the guy dinner?”

She brushed past him. “Whatever. Let’s just go inside.”

All of a sudden, Ethan collapsed to the ground with a heavy thud.

Isabella spun around, shocked. For a second, she just stared, then rushed over to him. She squatted down and shook his shoulder. “Ethan, what’s your deal? You were just walking. Get up. I’m telling you right now, I can’t carry you.”

The staff had already gone home. There was no way she could get him inside by herself.

Ethan sprawled out on the ground like a starfish, eyes closed, looking completely knocked out.

No matter how much Isabella called his name or nudged him, he didn’t move.

Was he really asleep? Just a minute ago, he’d popped up behind her like some ghost and scared the life out of her.
