After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 292

Jordan and Natalie were waiting just outside. Ethan gave Isabella’s hand a gentle squeeze and walked her over.

“Jordan, I know this is a lot. Honestly, nobody would find it easy to take in. But what’s done is done. Maybe you can… try to come to terms with it.” Ethan’s voice sounded weak, even to his own ears. He had no clue how to comfort Jordan. Who wouldn’t lose it over something like this?

Jordan’s face was full of hurt and anger. “I’ve been an only child for thirty years. Now today, I find out I’ve got a brother? Not even a sister, but a brother!” He clenched his fists. “Ethan, I can’t… I just can’t. This is too much.”

Jordan was crushed. Jackson had always treated him like his precious heir. He never once doubted he would be the only one to take over The Lane Group. Now, it felt like everything he believed had been ripped away.

Ethan stayed silent, not knowing what else to say.

Natalie spoke softly, trying to soothe him. “Jordan, please calm down. It’s not worth making yourself sick over this.”

“How am I supposed to stay calm? I’m furious. I can’t stand this,” Jordan shot back.

“Getting angry won’t fix anything. This is real. We just have to deal with it and figure out what comes next,” Natalie said.

Isabella nodded, her voice steady. “Natalie’s right. What’s happened has happened. Don’t get so upset that you make yourself sick. That’s exactly what the other woman would want.”

Natalie kept trying to comfort Jordan, repeating her gentle words, doing her best to help him find his calm.

Little by little, Jordan’s anger faded. He turned to Isabella. “Isabella, talk to Cynthia. Tell her not to rush into a divorce. She’s spent twenty years building this family. She can’t just hand it over to someone else.”

Isabella almost rolled her eyes. In her heart, she’d done everything she could to help Cynthia leave. How could she possibly tell her mom to stay now? Of course, she couldn’t say that out loud, not even to Ethan.
