After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 296

He looked annoyed, frowning at her for a good while before finally saying, “We’re going furniture shopping. Beds, couches, everything you need. Get it all.”

Isabella broke into a wide smile. “Got it. I’ll drive. Buckle your seatbelt.”

Ethan couldn’t help himself. He reached out and flicked her on the forehead.

Not to be outdone, Isabella shot her hand out and flicked his forehead right back, and she didn’t hold back on the force.

She grinned afterward. “That actually feels kind of satisfying.”

Ethan’s face darkened, but he kept quiet. He had started it, anyway. She really couldn’t stand losing, could she?

But somehow, he liked this version of Isabella even more.

Since Ethan was paying, Isabella picked out a bunch of expensive furniture without hesitation. If she didn’t see something she liked, she just asked the store to custom-make it. She ordered everything her new place needed in one go. No way was she giving Ethan a chance to back out and leave her paying the bill. If he was going to be stingy and only give her an empty house, she’d make up for it.

Honestly, he’d wanted to give her several houses at first. But Natalie had convinced him it was too much, that Isabella wouldn’t be able to handle it. So in the end, he just gave her one townhouse, and it was empty.

Natalie had said all of this to her in a previous life. Natalie had taken so much from her, and it was useless to expect Ethan to get it back. Still, Isabella figured she could at least get a little interest out of him now.

By the time they got back to Isabella’s townhouse, Ethan’s phone rang. He checked the caller ID and said, “I need to take this.”

He stepped outside, putting some space between them so she wouldn’t hear.

Isabella didn’t care at all. She was busy directing the furniture store guys, telling them exactly where to put everything she’d just bought.
