Jordan nodded again.
“Ethan, I just need some time alone.”
“Alright. Take your time, but try to get some rest. Tomorrow’s Monday, so go to work. Don’t skip out. The Lane Group isn’t yours yet, and if you keep going like this, your dad might just replace you.”
It used to be that Jackson only had Jordan. No matter what he did, Jackson would always forgive him. The plan was always for Jordan to take over The Lane Family one day. But now, with an illegitimate son in the mix, Jackson had started putting all his hopes on Kevin. He actually thought Kevin might turn out better than Jordan. Who the Lane Group would go to in the future was anyone’s guess.
Jordan nodded again. He thanked Ethan, then asked Natalie to walk him out.
Natalie followed Ethan outside.
“Thank you for today, Ethan. I’ve tried talking to Jordan so many times, but he just doesn’t listen to me.”
“Don’t worry about it. That’s what friends do. The three of us grew up together. I can’t just watch Jordan spiral like this.”
When they stepped outside, Ethan paused and looked at Natalie, his eyes soft with worry.
“Natalie, you have to take care of yourself. You’ve lost weight. Jordan’s just struggling right now, but he’ll work through it. You need to focus on your health.”
It hadn’t been long since her miscarriage.
