"Wake up, baby."

Isabella heard Ethan’s deep voice as soon as her eyes opened. For a moment, she just lay there, confused. Had she heard him right? There was no way Ethan could really be here. She squeezed her eyes shut, then opened them again, hoping she was imagining things. But his face was right there, impossibly handsome, his expression soft, his eyes warm and focused on her.

"Hungry? Do you want to get up and have some breakfast?"

Reality hit her all at once. She let out a small yelp, rolled to the side, and tumbled right off the bed, dragging the blanket with her and wrapping it tightly around herself. Her gaze darted to Ethan, and she realized with horror that he was almost completely naked.

"Ethan, what did you do to me last night?"

She clutched the blanket and pointed at him, her voice sharp and shaking. "Why are you in my room? Why are you in my bed?"

Ethan pushed himself up, his face the picture of innocence. "Shouldn’t I be asking you that? Do you really not remember what happened last night? And for the record, this isn’t your room. This is my room, my bed. You’re the one who ended up here."

Isabella glanced around, taking in the strange furniture and unfamiliar colors. He was right. This definitely wasn’t her room.

So what had happened last night? She couldn’t remember anything. Her head was pounding, her brain feeling like it might split in two. Aside from the hangover, she didn’t feel any different. Surely nothing actually happened between them, right?

Ethan swung his legs out of the bed and stood in front of her, still barefoot. He pointed to himself, looking at her with mock seriousness. "You were all over me last night. You kept saying you wanted to have my babies, that you wanted us to be a real married couple. You started pulling at my clothes, kissing me, touching me..."

"No way!" Isabella cut him off, her cheeks burning. "That’s impossible. I was drunk. I never do things like that. When I drink too much, I just go to sleep."
