Ethan rattled off a few of Isabella’s favorite dishes, making sure the kitchen had them on tonight’s menu. Stephanie didn’t ask any more questions. She just agreed, no hesitation.

If Ethan wanted his cousins to come back to The Adams Estate, he could handle that himself. But when it came to the older generation, only Stephanie could get them to listen.

Once the call ended, Ethan looked over at Isabella. “I’ve told you, I’m not agreeing to a divorce. You might as well stop dreaming about it and just get used to staying by my side.”

Isabella stayed silent. Inside, though, she was cursing him a thousand different ways.

She turned away, fixing her gaze on the city passing by outside the car window. She didn’t want to talk to him. Every time the topic of separating came up, the conversation just died.
