After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 71

The evening breeze drifted by, cool and sharp, making Ethan shiver a little.

“You too, Ethan. You should really think about having a baby with Isabella soon. Then both of us will be fathers,” Jordan said, completely sincere.

Jordan never liked the fact that Isabella married Ethan. Honestly, he always felt she wasn’t good enough for him. The Adams family had way more money and status than the Lanes. Isabella wasn’t even blood-related to them. She just changed her last name, became the Lane family’s precious daughter, met Ethan, and ended up marrying into the Adams family. If Isabella had actually been his father’s biological daughter, Jordan might have accepted it. At least then, they’d share the same blood. But she was just an outsider, using the Lane family’s influence to get ahead.

Ethan had insisted on marrying her, and even Jordan’s dad told him to be nicer to Isabella, for Ethan’s sake. Now that Jordan was about to become a dad himself, he was honestly hoping Ethan and Isabella would have a baby soon. Maybe then, he could finally relax.

“We’re not in a hurry,” Ethan replied with an easy smile. “We just got married. Isabella wants to start a business, and I’m doing everything I can to support her. Plus, my work is crazy right now. Maybe in a few years.”

He was only thirty. Isabella was twenty-five. A few more years… Would he ever really have a kid with Isabella? Definitely not. She was just a piece in his game.

Ethan only ever loved Natalie. Even if Natalie never married him, he would stay loyal to her forever. Isabella wanted money, and he gave it to her. But his love? His child? She could forget it, in this life or the next.

“You’re already thirty, Ethan. Wait a few more years and you’ll be in your mid-thirties. It’s better to have a kid now. The elders would be happy too,” Jordan pressed.

Ethan just smiled, brushing it off. “We’ll see what happens. Right now, I’m focused on helping her start her business.”
