After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World novel Chapter 1403

Chapter 1403: Departure to Bleulle (Part 1)

While the younger generation was frolicking around, a serious discussion had begun in the villa.

The first one to get home was the couple, Orion and Hilda, and they arrived to see that Veronica was waiting for them.

She was fortunately received well by the new servants they hired. They didn’t use the servants they brought here because their levels were high—they could receive much better lives in Alterra than being their servants.

They definitely deserved their freedom and their own lives, starting anew in this wonderful place.

In contrast, there were plenty of locals who’d do a good job in their employ—after making a standard oath, of course. They even had a cook who was once a chef in Alterra. They didn’t know what a three-star restaurant meant at first, but they tasted his food during the interview and they all fell in love.

They also hired a pastry chef, as well, so one could say they were really living in Elvendell.

Anyway, Veronica stood up when they arrived and, after greeting them, she didn’t do small talk and went directly to the point. She told them of the invitation.

She was considering taking up the invite, but only if there were a lot more meaningful tasks attached than just seeing that unlikeable cousin of hers get married. The first people she thought of were the Golds. She knew that they had been pushed out in a rush, so there must’ve been a lot of unsettled accounts left behind.

Orion and Hilda looked at each other.

Instead of making a decision prematurely, Orion took out his aether letter, calling everyone in to get their opinion.

Everyone arrived some minutes later, though Obi took the chance to distribute books, making Oslo glare at the back of his head, vowing to take revenge one day.

Fortunately for him, there was a more pressing matter at hand, so the books were temporarily put aside. It was delayed torture, but whatever.

Anyway, Veronica proceeded on telling them the contents of the letter that were related to them—specifically, what was happening to Bleulle right now.

"Well, it’s just a natural consequences of an overhaul," Zaol sighed. "We can only feel pity for the collateral damage."

"You think the news of where we are had arrived there?"

"Even if it hadn’t," Otto said. "I estimate it should be within the next few months."

"Sigh, how inconvenient. If we could completely hide our identities, we would’ve."

They were too well-known. Plus, people who had been here already knew Oslo was stationed here and had even returned. If one had the right connections to Bleulle or its associates, it wouldn’t take a genius to surmise that they were the Golds, regardless of disguises.

In the end, they decided not to show up there personally. For one, they’d like to delay the trouble as much as they could. They were planning on planting a lot more distractions here and there to delay the enemies’ arrival to Alterra, though they were naturally preparing for the event they did.

For one, Orion and the others were trying to find ways to get more aether crystals for their leveling, though that’d take a while.

Interestingly, these assets had a lot to do with Blu production. The resource naturally underwent many, many, processes to be usable, and the industry that the Wisen family held was part of that long process, and Bleumrick made sure to get it. freewebnøvel_com

What did they get in return? Taken advantage of and kicked out.

Her father and brother were not as enlightened as Zaol was, but they were good people. They had underestimated her a lot, but they loved her. It was more than what most women could say.

When Bleumrick went to anger her and her family while they were in the cell, he also told them that her father and brother were seriously injured. She didn’t have time to check on them before, only hoping for the best.

How were they? Are they alright now? Are they still hurting?

It has been haunting her since she found out about it, but at the time they were powerless to even protect themselves.

If they found out they had gone missing, possibly dead, how heartbroken they would be?

She has been meaning to send a letter back, but was afraid it would put everyone in danger—especially so prematurely—so she held back.

Veronica, as someone who didn’t have direct connections with them, might be the way to finally get the news she wanted.

Anyway, with at least one agenda, Veronica’s trip was pretty much confirmed.
