After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World novel Chapter 1404

Chapter 1404: Departure to Bleulle (Part 2)

The Golds were also concerned about their loyalists. Although they had asked for leniency and they had left instructions to them not to fight, there was still the worry that their lives might be hard.

Veronica’s heart twitched at the Golds’ genuine concern for their servants and partners.

It was really rare.

"Of course, I will also take note of this," she told them, taking note. They also gave a list of names, especially those who were especially stubborn and would therefore have it the hardest.

"And if you can, buy some magic tools," Otto added. "You may want to check on Miss Althea as well, in case she wants to ask a favor, as well."

After all, since they were cut off from their supplies, the supplies for certain magic tools like the aether letter and the voice blocker had naturally dropped.

They would definitely need a few more of those, something they could no longer provide. At least for now.

Veronica nodded, taking note and headed to Althea after finalizing the plans with the Golds.

Veronica arrived to Althea’s Office in the Research Center half an hour later, telling her everything, as well as what the Golds asked of her.

This naturally got Althea interested. There was a team that was dedicated to studying the arrays of certain tools, and they had gained some progress. However, it was not enough to put into practice, especially those who didn’t have the skill to integrate the arrays to actual objects like she had.

Their population was growing rapidly, and the amount of aether letters they had now was simply not sufficient. Not to mention, when they expanded, more and more guards had to be given this tool, and she needed to prepare for this.

"We need to buy a couple more tools, actually. Specifically, we need a lot of the voice blocker tool and the aether letter," she said. "We will give you the money as well as ample contribution points for your time."

Veronica nodded passionately. Now she found that Althea really needed tools, and she was glad! Even if she didn’t have many things (for now) to spend contribution points on, she wanted to hoard a lot of them for the future!

Before Veronica left, Althea took out a paper from her space and wrote a letter, adding a personalized stamp (each elder had one) at the end.

"Here, give this to the bank," she said, handing the stamped paper to Veronica. "There’s no Lord, so this means we do not have access to the main treasury. However, we Elders do have access to the Bank."

Veronica blinked as she looked at the letter. It was written in their lingua franca, but she did recognize a few characters.

For instance, she knew that she was asked to be given 10,000 Gold.

"..."

So rich? The bank was only a portion of the territory’s wealth, right? She couldn’t imagine how much was inside the so-called main treasury!

Veronica gulped.

"We will also send you a team of guards to ensure safety. Their spaces will also be used to store many of the tools you buy."

The party left before dawn, and Althea and Garan saw the party off.

"This will be your first trip to a City," Althea told Sean. "Be sure to listen to Veronica well," she said. "There are too many things to consider in that circle."

Garan nodded, adding a few more reminders of his own. "Find out as much as you can with the current situation and the current power play there," he said. "Determine what could be future problems for us, particularly what could happen when they find out both the Golds and Hoffen are here."

It was never a question of ’if’. It was inevitable that they’d eventually find out about it.

"Yes, Captain," Sean said, and he headed to one of the two beast carts they’d be using for this adventure.

They took a day to prepare everything. They filled their spaces with their weapons, food, and the like, adding boxes in the carriages as well.

Don’t say Bleuelle was a City, but nothing could beat Alterran food! So they—including Ignus and the others—filled up their spaces and the carriages with supplies to last them weeks.

Veronica hugged Cassandra, who had also seen her off.

"Good luck, and see you soon."

Veronica chuckled as she embraced her friend a bit more tightly. "Well, I’d need all the luck I can get indeed."
