After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World novel Chapter 1715

Chapter 1715: Ending Another War (Part 1)

In Voumi Town, now that the token was secured, all the soldiers had to do was to hide away, and perhaps leave the place undetected. They were quite excited to write a report about this. After all, it was a resounding success!

While one mission wrapped up, other people also took advantage of the chaos to do their own thing. For example, those who were waiting to get their revenge.

The most helpful one in this mission was Eian, who helped fabricate and manipulate so many things. He was privy to the fact that something big was going to happen, and after finding out what they did to the warehouse, he knew the Lord’s time was up.

As such, Eian, who was in the palace, took this time to materialize the money they made into the space. If Voumi lost the war (they assumed this was the case because they were not privy to the details), the slaves would be transferred to the winning territory. This included whatever was in their wallets, if there was anything. Only their spaces were independent of this curse.

He was also afraid that the confusion and shifts in ownership would make him lose his money instead.

They even stole some things from the Voumi palace to fund his and Yuri’s futures (according to their liaisons, they were allowed to do so, but at their own risks).

Further, they were told that if they helped the new masters, the slaves who helped—regardless of whether they were Terran or not—would be freed from traditional slavery and would be functionally liberated, whatever that meant, but Yuri seemed to be fine with it, so he chose to trust the promise.

Whatever happened, he and Yuri would live a brand new life after this!

...

The other person taking advantage of the chaos was Sasha, whose expression was solemn as he walked around the palace. The mission team did let her have free rein, going around the palace at her own risk and her own request.

There were guards, but all they had to do was ask her not to attack them or steal anything, and maybe even ask her to guard the halls with them.

The woman with caramel-colored hair just acted like looking for her lover or someone to comfort her, and some guards would see her and look at her with lust, but knowing she was Hesso’s lover—even if he had lost a good part of his standing— they didn’t dare touch her.

Sasha did, however, ask to see her "sister", Sandra. They pondered whether to let her pass, at least how much they should charge, and their eyes ended up on the guard next to him.

Judging by aura, it was not a very strong one, but his level was enough to pass for a minor guard assigned to the outer walls.

"Who is he?"

"He is the guard Master Hesso assigned to me," she said with a straight face.

"Master Hesso would allow a handsome man as your guard? Slave, you better be honest—"

He wasn’t able to say anything anymore because Atlas’ element flew smack at him, all while a voice blocker was turned on. It was a sharp earth spike, and it went straight through his eyes.

The other man yelled and attacked by instinct, but Atlas’s protection charm activated and protected him.

Sasha would help get access and find Sandra, while Atlas would do the protecting. He didn’t have to kill Sandra directly—after knowing that the woman was involved in the death of this woman’s child—but he wanted to at least need to make sure she’d be punished with his own eyes.
