There were more reasons than there were for Rowan to take the offer, and many were quite objective. If the Lord’s level was so low, then wouldn’t it just cause chaos? Wouldn’t they just be attacked more often?
Voumi was also broken internally. It had so many addicts, and its infrastructure was a mess. Rowan was an excellent guard, but he was no leader.
Alterra offered support, but he refused for a while. He asked Silvia if she wanted to be the first lady of a Town, too, and only then would he consider, but Silvia made an awkward face that told everyone she did not want to go back to that place.
Rowan smiled, agreeing. Voumi was never really good to him, and it was only his home because his grandmother was there. His grandmother was now in Alterra, living very well, so he hoped to stay.
Not to mention, the recovery of towns was an incredibly tedious and costly endeavor.
They put this decision on hold for a while. As long as the character of the new Lord was good, a couple of decent oaths should be sufficient.
They thought of the event where they’d sell the tokens. It or they would be sold for a fair price, and this would include the attached territories, which was really a good package deal.
As for the gold, the Voumi Lord was dead, so the wealth was limited to what he had left behind, like in his treasure room. On the other hand, Peaco was alive, and he bought his life by giving up all his wealth.
Which was a whopping thirty thousand gold and more! One had to note that he was dirt poor a few months ago. The drug trade was a really lucrative business.
Anyway, the whole deal for the token was extremely profitable, especially for aborigines whose view of tokens was much more revered compared to how Terrans looked at them.
Once the main token was taken over, the satellites, allies, and subsidiaries would also follow. The control was limited to networking, of course, because alliances and subsidiaries were recognized by the system per individual territory. This meant that if the allies weren’t also allied with each other, they could attack each other.
Voumi Town, at this time, had 1 satellite village, 3 allies, and 8 subsidiaries, while Flaret Town had no satellite villages, 2 allies, and 7 subsidiaries.
Purchasing the town token would let the new Lords obtain all these villages! On paper, this was extremely attractive. After all, people go to war to get these tokens!
The standard prices of Level 1 Town Token ranged from 30 thousand to 50 thousand gold, depending on its wealth and potential. (Speaking of this, the Alterrans who managed to get the token, individual or team, would also gain 20% of the earnings here).
In this case, Voumi and Flaret would be in the upper ranges of this because they had so many more territories attached to them. Their location was also very good and lucrative for future trade with Alterra and the rest of the world.
Further, whoever decided to take over would be given 3 years to pay for this amount, which was incredibly generous.
To determine the final decision for this, they sent invites to everyone of decent character past level 25 in Alterra, who also had a partnership with them.
This included the Golds, the soldiers, Bart, Pietro, and even those in Ferrol, like Jonathan.
It would not be a bidding war in terms of gold, but a bidding war in terms of ability.

The meeting lasted two full days, and the winner for at least one of the territories was determined like this. Interestingly, both were aborigines too, because Terrans really found taking over towns way too cumbersome.
