Aiden Finnegan the Alchemist in Delcord novel Chapter 55

Aiden looked at the man, surprised. He could see that the man needed money, and the items he was selling were worth more than three hundred grand. Aiden thought the man might not know that, and he refused to take advantage of that too much, so he offered three hundred grand. But to his surprise, the man refused to sell. There's actually someone out here who doesn't want a better offer. "Why?"

The man answered honestly, "Because that's all I need."

Curious, Aiden asked, "Why so?"

"A hundred and fifty grand for my mother's treatment, and fifty grand for her living expenses."

"What about you?" Aiden asked.

But the man didn't answer. "Are you buying or not?"

"I'm buying." Aiden smiled. "Two hundred grand it is."

"Pay up, then." The man took his phone out, his eyes filled with surprise. I can save Ma now! Once the transaction was completed, the man wrapped up his items and stuffed them in Aiden's hands, then he tried to leave.

"A minute, please," Aiden said.

The man looked at him cautiously. "Buyer's remorse?"

"No. Just saying that I'm a doctor. My center's on Vermilion Avenue. Finnegan Medical Center. Take your mother to me. I can treat her, and it only costs fifteen grand."

"Very well." The man left right away.

Aiden looked at the pack of items he was holding, and he smiled dryly. If someone saw me like this, they'd think I was kicked out of the house. Aiden didn't care, however. He saddled the pack and went to his medical center.

Angelina saw the whole transaction, and she was confused. The stall was obviously a scam, and she wondered why Aiden still fell for it. She was about to stop him, but Aiden had paid for the items. Where did he get the money? I still have the check he got from treating his patient. Angelina kept following him and saw him going to his medical center, and she muttered, "Maybe I did misunderstand him."

Helena and Reece were already there when Aiden came. Noticing the pack on Aiden's shoulder, Helena said in awe, "Chased out of the house?"

"You just have to laugh at me, huh?"

Aiden placed the pack on the table and went through the items.

Surprised, Helena said, "You got scammed."

But Aiden ignored her. He went through every single item and realized that all of them were worth more than the seller thought.

Driven by the urgency of his mission, Zachary showed up less than ten minutes later, and Aiden got into his car right away. They then made their way to the Thatcher Residence. Angelina saw the whole thing. He left right after Zachary showed up? She wondered if they were here to demand an explanation. What if Jeffrey's condition worsened? She followed them.

Aiden could see that the young man was a martial artist. The old man was also a martial artist as well, but he was stronger. I can see he's special. Not everyone can have a martial artist as a bodyguard.

Jeffrey stood up, smiling. "Sorry for the short notice, Mr. Finnegan."

"No formalities, sir. Call me Aiden. Zachary's my friend, which makes you my elder." Aiden smiled.

"Of course, of course!" Jeffrey roared in laughter, the air trembling from his voice.

"A strong laugh, sir. I can see you're fully healed," Aiden said.

"Oh, not just fully healed, Mr. Finnegan. Thanks to your prescription, I can eat double what I usually do. This old git has at least ten years more in him." Jeffrey laughed. "Oh, and this is my old friend. He's not in the best state of health. Can you take a look?" Jeffrey seemed respectful of his old friend. He didn't even say the friend's name.

Aiden looked at the old man. Seeing that the old man was smiling at him, he nodded.

"Mr. Thatcher, this is the miracle doctor? He's young," the lad beside the old man said.

"Age is nothing but a number. Well, in most cases anyway." Aiden smiled and entered the sanctum.
