Aiden Finnegan the Alchemist in Delcord novel Chapter 69

With these thoughts in mind, Angelina ignored Corina's family and dialed Aiden's number, but there was no response after the phone had rung for a while. Angelina checked the time and assumed that Aiden must be deeply asleep, so she decided not to continue calling him.

Meanwhile, at the medical center, Aiden glanced at the incoming call on his phone but chose not to answer, allowing the phone to vibrate. He stared at the flashing phone in silence; anyone would be angry after what happened tonight, even if the others wanted to talk!

Glancing at the man, Aiden suggested, "It seems like you have nowhere to go, right? Why not stay here temporarily?"

"Wouldn't that be inconvenient, sir?" asked the man. He had no other choice since he was currently penniless and seeking revenge, so he had nowhere to stay. If he could find somewhere to stay for a while, it would be great.

"What inconvenience? There are three rooms at the back, and I won't be sharing a room with you. You can help out at the medical center now. Food is covered, but there won't be a salary!" Aiden winked.

The man immediately expressed his gratitude. "Thank you for taking me in, sir!"

Back at Prime Hospital, a weary doctor finally emerged from the emergency room after Titan had left.

Upon seeing the doctor, Linda and Harvey hurriedly approached. "Doctor, how is Corina?"

Larissa and Carmen also came over, their faces filled with anxiety. "Doctor, how is our mom?"

"She's no longer in any danger!" replied the doctor tiredly while looking at the crowd.

However, Larissa continued, "Doctor, what happened exactly? My mom has been regularly taking this supplement. How did she suddenly get poisoned?"

"After conducting tests, we discovered that some of the ingredients in this health supplement have exceeded the safe level. As you mentioned, it appears that an excessive amount was added during the production of this batch, or it wouldn't have caused any issues like the previous batches!" the doctor calmly explained.

"Health supplements are not to blame, but it is crucial to check that they are produced by reputable manufacturers. Don't blindly trust salespeople and fall for their tricks. Manufacturers with slightly more conscience may just produce pills from flour, but who knows what those without conscience put in theirs!" After concluding his explanation, the doctor shook his head and headed into his office.

A short while later, two nurses wheeled Corina out of the emergency room. She had fallen asleep after a long night. The crowd exchanged glances, realizing that no one would believe that she had ended up in the hospital due to consuming a health supplement.

Once Corina was settled in her hospital room, Angelina's family promptly left the hospital.

Linda expressed her fear in the car. "How did a perfectly fine health supplement become poisonous? Fortunately, I didn't take it, or I might be lying in the hospital too!"

"You have Aiden to thank for that!" reminded Harvey.

"Hmph! That doesn't mean he can treat me like that, though!" Although Linda knew deep down that she owed Aiden greatly, she refused to admit it.

Harvey looked at Linda and shook his head. "Didn't he warn you? But you didn't listen!"

"If he had said it nicely, wouldn't I have listened? I think he did it on purpose just because I always criticize him. He was taking the chance to retaliate!" replied Linda stubbornly.

Angelina, who was driving, frowned at her mother's words. "Mom, can you stop seeing him in a negative light? If it weren't for him, you would be lying in the hospital right now!"

"It's his fault anyway!" Linda responded irritably.

Angelina sighed. "We all rushed to the hospital just now, but no one apologized to Aiden. I suppose he's upset!"

Do I really look down on Aiden? Why could everyone sense it otherwise?

Immediately, she shouted, "Dad, Aiden has left!"

Harvey and Linda had already returned to their room to prepare for bed, as both of them were exhausted after a long night.

Upon hearing Angelina's cry, Harvey walked out of the room and asked with a puzzled expression, "Has he left for work already?"

"No, Dad. Aiden has taken everything from his room!" Angelina's tone was close to tears.

Linda walked out of the room then and exclaimed, "He's gone? Good riddance! Wait, let's see if anything is missing."

"Do you really think he would give you $15,000 and still desire our belongings?" asked Harvey irritably.

Angelina looked at Linda furiously. "It's all because of you. Why didn't you tell the truth? Aiden did it to save you, and now he's gone!"

"Why are you blaming me? Weren't you also doubtful of him? If I hadn't said anything, you wouldn't have known, would you?" Linda replied unreasonably.

"I don't want to talk to you!" Angelina turned around and left the house. She was going to the medical center to find Aiden!
