Chapter 10 

A video began playing on the big screen, showing an intimate footage between a man and a woman. The woman wasn’t a stranger. It was the bride, Wynter. 

Gone was the obedient, soft–spoken woman she always was around Ewan. In the video, she was bold, wild, and completely in control. The man in each clip was different, but Wynter was there throughout. 

Ewan stared at her, frozen. In his mind, Wynter was the picture of a conservative. She had insisted they wait until their wedding night for their first time. Yet here she was, in clip after clip, with man after man. Was this the same Wynter he had known all along? 

Gasps rippled through the guests. Some even raised their phones to take pictures. 

Panic rushed across Wynter’s face. She immediately grabbed Ewan’s hand and explained desperately, “Ewan, someone edited these videos. You have to trust me. I would never do something this disgusting.” 

Before Ewan could respond, his parents, Robert Shaw and Marilyn Jenner, stepped forward. “Ewan, we will never welcome a woman like her into our family. You still have time. The ceremony hasn’t finished yet. Walk away while you can!” 

Ewan’s closest friend, Jaden Carter, spoke up. “That’s right, Ewan. That video doesn’t look fake at all.” 

However, Ewan looked into Wynter’s tear–filled eyes and gripped her hand even tighter. His voice was firm as he barked at Jaden, “That’s enough! I believe in Wynter. The wedding continues. And I’ll make sure anyone who posts that video online is gone from Berning by tomorrow morning.” Silence fell. No one doubted he could make that happen. Just when everyone thought the chaos was over, Ewan’s assistant, George Johnson, approached and handed him a folder. 

Wynter noticed and immediately tried to shift Ewan’s attention. “Ewan, let’s finish the ceremony first. Everyone’s still waiting downstairs.” However, it was too late. He had already opened it. 

His gaze locked on the pages, and not a single word was skipped. It was a full dossier, detailed with every dirty thing Wynter had ever done, backed by irrefutable evidence. 

Nova hadn’t spread the scandalous video with hirn. Wynter had faked it.
