Alpha alec's redemption (Sadie) novel Chapter 330

“Please, Sadie… let me just hold you. Let me make it right,” he says quietly.

I swallow. “I can’t… Not yet.”

He sighs, his breath hitching in a way that guts me.

“Okay… Whenever you’re ready, I’ll be here.”

He eventually steps back, and even without turning around, I feel the moment he leaves.

Something inside me twists painfully. I know it’s for the best. I want to believe it’s for the best but the way my chest aches… goddess, it doesn’t feel like the best. It feels like I'm being torn apart.

I shake off the feeling threatening to drown me and throw a ball of energy toward a target dummy. It hits too hard, blowing it into splinters.

I continue training, but each time the results are the same. My powers seem too strong, too out of control.

Eventually, I stop, knowing that something is wrong and just as I’m about to leave, a shout snaps my attention toward the forest border.

“Sadie!”

A group of warriors is approaching, and at the center with broad shoulders, familiar dark eyes, and a tall presence that radiates stable strength is King.

My heart leaps before I can stop it. I'm so fucking happy. For a moment I forget everything that has been happening and just let relief crash over me.

I jog forward, and King smiles the moment he sees me, wrapping me in a tight, warm hug that nearly knocks the breath out of me.

“Sadie,” he murmurs against my hair. “My gods, it’s good to see you.”

I cling to him for a second longer than I probably should. “You got here early.”

He’d said he’d be here in two weeks, but fuck, am I glad to see him.

“Finished everything and decided to surprise you, Raven and Aspen,” he says with a shrug. “And the warriors back home are already training with the videos you sent, by the way.”

He pulls back, studying my face and his smile fades instantly.

“You look like shit.”

“Thanks,” I mutter sarcastically, rolling my eyes.

“And you’ve been crying.”

“Can we not—”

“And you look like you’re about to pass out.”

“King,” I sigh, annoyed but warmed by how deeply he cares. “ I’m fine.”

His brow arches. “You’re a terrible liar.”

A small laugh slips out. “I know.”

His tone shifts. “Does this have anything to do with why the grass is scorched and trees broken in half?”

I stiffen.
