Alpha Damon (Sienna) novel Chapter 139

Instead, she sat up slowly, the sheet falling from her shoulders, revealing the curve of her back as she slid off the bed.

She reached for her robe on the chair.

“I’m going to shower and get ready for work,” she murmured, voice still laced with sleep.

I nodded but didn’t move.

She glanced at me before heading into the bathroom.

The sound of the shower filled the room.

Still, I didn’t move.

I couldn’t bring myself to move from the bed if I wanted to. I was too lost in my thoughts.

I just lay there, staring at the ceiling, wondering how the hell one woman had managed to knock down everything I’d built around myself, so quietly, so completely.

And how I still hadn’t found the courage to admit it.

She came out a few minutes later, dressed and drying her hair with a towel, her eyes falling on me as I sat up slightly in bed.

She paused when she saw me watching her.

Her expression softened, and she approached me slowly.

I could tell she sensed something in the air, something unspoken. She sat on the edge of the bed beside me, looking at me, studying my expression. “Damon, whatever it is that you’re trying to hide, it is eating you alive, and I can see it. I am willing to be that person that would stand by your side. I am willing to listen. All you have to do is just let me

in.”

I sat up fully, letting the sheets fall around my waist, and reached out to take her hand in mine, gently caressing it. “Did you mean it?” I asked, voice low.

Her brows furrowed in confusion. “Mean what?”

I swallowed, my thumb brushing against her hand as I looked up at her.

I knew she had work.

But I wasn’t going anywhere today.

Not yet.

Delilah had to go. This couldn’t continue.

Not with Sienna giving me everything I didn’t realize I needed, and asking for nothing in return.

And as she left the room, I stared at the closed door, repeating her words in my head again and again.

I love you.

“I love you too.” I whispered before I could stop myself, knowing that she was not going to be able to hear me. “I just don’t know how I’d be able to say it looking you in the eye. Without fearing that you’re just going to end up leaving me in the end…”
