Alpha Damon (Sienna) novel Chapter 142

Damon:

I caught her scent before I saw her.

It didn’t matter how faint it was, how much she tried to mask it, my wolf picked up on it instantly. Delilah.

The woman that has now become more of a headache than I wanted her to be. The woman who got my mate, MY woman, more insecure than she should be. The woman who has been playing a game that I still did not understand, and yet, I knew that she was going to need to get out of my sight.

The halls were quiet, most of the pack going about their duties, and yet there she was, strutting like she belonged here. Head high. Robe traded for one of the more modest dresses that had been lent to her. She looked too

comfortable, too confident, for someone who had been told to stay in her damn room. For someone who knew that I did not want roaming around.

I stepped in front of her path before she could make it down the main stairwell. Her eyes met mine and a small smile formed on her lips, one fit for a seductress, one fit for a person who was used to playing around the way that she was.

“I told you not to leave the guest wing,” I said sharply. “And I believe that you were well aware of the rules of me not wanting you to roam around wearing nothing but a robe.”

Delilah blinked, then smirked. “I was just getting some air. I didn’t think that wearing a robe would be bothering you. I don’t have anything to wear, it is the reason behind that.”

My jaw tightened. “You don’t get to roam this house. And you could have asked for an outfit, not that the women of the pack did not provide one for you, but still, I am being generous.”

Her tone dropped into something soft, something meant to sound innocent. “I didn’t think you’d mind, I am sorry. After all, you’ve visited me more than once. I assumed that meant I was welcome. As for clothes, I didn’t want to wear something that is already used. The robe is simply because I can’t roam around being naked. It would be too exposed for my own taste.

“You assumed wrong,” I snapped, stepping closer until she was forced to tilt her head up to look at me. “You are not welcome here. You were a guest out of mercy. Now you’ve overstayed your stay, and you’re pushing your luck. I believe that it is time for me to be putting you back in place.”

Her eyes narrowed. “You felt it, Damon. Don’t pretend. You felt the pull, the bond.”

“I felt nothing that belonged to you,” I growled. “Whatever tricks you used, whatever potion or magic you brewed to mask your scent and toy with a bond that doesn’t exist, it ends now.”

“I was attacked,” she said, her voice rising slightly, the manipulation thick in every word. “You said I could stay until I was well.”

“And you’re well,” I said coldly, lifting a brow. “You’ve been walking just fine. Flirting just fine. So yes, Delilah, I’d say your time is up.”

She stared at me, fury flashing behind her eyes. “Where am I supposed to go?”

“You should’ve thought of that before lying your way into my pack. Take the clothes on your back. We’re not savages, I will not let you walk around being nude, but we are done.” I leaned in, my voice low. “And if you ever come near my mate or my daughter again, I will forget my mercy.”

Her lips trembled, not from fear, but from rage.

“I should’ve known,” she spat. “You Alphas are all the same. You choose your weak little mates, and then expect everyone else to grovel at your feet…”

“Enough,” I barked.

I turned my back on her. The final act of dismissal.

“Guards,” I called.

Two of my warriors appeared at the far end of the hall, instantly alert.

“Escort her to the gate. Make sure she leaves,” I said. “She’s not to return. Not now, not ever.”

Delilah didn’t speak again. Her eyes burned holes into my back as the guards came to flank her, but she didn’t resist. Maybe she knew better. Maybe she finally realized she lost.

Every gaze turned to me. Every ear focused.

“There is only one woman who holds my loyalty. One woman who bears the mark of my claim, who is the mother of my heir, and the one I call mine.”

I raised my chin.

“Sienna De Luca is my mate. And she is your Luna.”

A beat of silence, then submission rippled through the courtyard. “Though she has yet to be marked by me, it will be done on her own account, when she finds herself ready to be, when she accepts me to do it… she is your mate, your Luna, my Luna. And it is going to stay this way.”

Ethan stood straighter. Carter bowed his head. The warriors followed, one by one, baring their necks. The maids, the guards, even the healers.

I looked around the sea of wolves.

“She is the heart of this pack. If anyone has a problem with that, they can take it up with me.” I looked down at her to find that her eyes welled up with tears. Her heart hammering against her chest with each passing moment. I smiled at her, giving her a nod of assurance.

And with that, it was done.

She didn’t need to fight for a place anymore.

Because I just gave it to her.
