Alpha Damon (Sienna) novel Chapter 228

“You remember,” he continued softly, “how you fought me at every turn. How I had to prove to you that I was strong enough, worthy enough, not just to stand beside you, but to truly love you. How hard you were to allow me to look you in the eye without yelling at me or pushing me away.”

“I remember,” I whispered, feeling my heart beat faster at the memory. “You were so patient. I didn’t make it easy. I was fighting so hard to resist you and push you away. I didn’t want to end up like those mistresses they always had. I didn’t want you to just end up being tired of me.”

He chuckled gently, eyes sparkling with quiet affection. “No, you definitely didn’t. But every challenge you gave me, every wall you built, I knew they were worth it. Because when you finally opened your heart, Evelyn, it was the most powerful thing I had ever experienced. When you looked me in the eye that day, when you told me that you loved me back, I knew that I was never going to lose you. I knew that I would go to the ends of the world just to see you smile. And look at us now.”

His thumb brushed softly along my cheekbone, sending shivers through my spine. “We’ve weathered storms stronger than this. We have seen darkness, pain, loss, and yet, we’re still here. Still together. If we survived everything we’ve faced in the past, we will survive this, too.”

I swallowed hard, my eyes locked onto his, feeling the steady reassurance of our bond. My wolf stirred softly within, reaching gently toward his, as if to confirm every word he said. I felt the reassurance deep inside my soul.

“Trust me,” Kael whispered gently, “we’ll get through this. Together. Like always.”

I nodded slowly, the tension easing slightly in my chest. I placed my hand gently over his heart, feeling the comforting, steady beat beneath my palm. “I trust you. I just hate feeling helpless. I just hate feeling so empty and yet wanting to try and save the day and not being able to do so.”

“You’re not helpless,” he said quietly, leaning down, his lips mere inches from mine. “You’re strong, Evelyn. And you’re never alone. We fight this together. For Damon, for Sienna, for Isla, for us. We are all going to fight, we are all going to do this and we are all going to make it worth it. And in the future, when we are gone, everyone is going to know and remember our story.”

Because together, we were strong enough to face anything.

“Now come on, I’ve already called for breakfast. I believe that we can sit at the table as one family. Wouldn’t you agree? Maybe it’s going to be a reminder of why it is always going to be worth it…”
